Chapter 22: S.O.S.
Lincon's POV:
"What's happening?" I ask Grant as he examines Taylor. She is acing like she's drunk and she can't get a grip on a thing that we are saying. Dominic hasn't even came down from his room, he said he can't take seeing her like this. Seran is staying by her side, though.
"I think it's another spell, that elixir must have made it worse. The drunk behavior will wear off but she will then become delusional. The spell is something I need to study before I can confirm anything, but I can guarantee it's Soren and he doesn't need physical contact for this one." He then leaves to the library.
I then pick Taylor up and ignore her rambling. I take her to her room and put her in her bed, making sure to tell Seran and Xander to watch over her. I go back down the stairs with the weight of the world on my shoulders and take a seat in the office/library chair. Grant is in his room reading and doing research, Taylor and Seran are upstairs and Dominic is in his room.
I'm told otherwise when he steps through the doorway. He grips the table and holds onto it. He looks awful, he's lost weight, he's pale white, and he looks like death.
"Dominic..." I trail off.
"I'm fine." He responds, shuffling over to the desk.
He tries to walk on his own and makes it, but he then falls to his knees and empty's the contents of his stomach into the trash bin beside the desk. I stand and go to help, but I panic when I see what's in the trash can.
Blood. And a lot of it.
When he raises his head back up, he has blood leaking from his mouth. He stares at me for a second before falling over and passing out.
I curse under my breath and yell, "Grant!"
---
I sit in my office chair again and stare at the wall. Grant is caring for Dominic. He's dying. He's dying because Taylor doesn't remember him and it's like a rejection to his Wolf. His Wolf can't support him any longer. He'll turn into a Rouge soon, or maybe die, if this isn't fixed. If he turns into a Rouge, he'll be out of it, blood thirsty. Mentally insane. There is two versions of Rouges and this happens to be the worst.
Taylor, she just stopped screaming not long ago. She was scared because she didn't know where she was.
Grant said there is something making her act this way. He's busy trying to figure out what it is.
I look to my right and see Dominic's cell phone.
Then, I get an idea.
I reach to grab it but then stop. Should I do this? Would they even know what to do? Or is it just that I don't want to be alone?
I scoff at myself and grab his phone, scrolling to the right contact on the list.
I can't believe I'm doing this.
---9:00 the same night---
I jump when I hear a knock at the door. I jump up, jogging to it, and swing it open.
I stand staring at the gang I once chased after for years. Brad, Austin, Brett, and Sandy.
"You're Lincon, right?" One of them asks.
I nod my head and usher them inside.
"What's happening? We got your S.O.S. and came over as soon as we could." Sandy say's.
I then sit them down and tell them everything that has happened over the past few months.
"So you're saying, Dominic is dying, Taylor has gone crazy, Soren is alive, his son is here, and you need our help?" Brett asks.
