Chapter 16: Adriel And Blaire

Taylor's POV:

"That's it I'm laying in the back." I growl in irritation and crawl over the center console of Soren's truck. It's night time and we're on the Interstate heading to Texas where Soren is supposed to have a home.

The front seat wouldn't lean back far enough and after an hour I gave up.  We stopped by the house early today and Soren got our stuff but forced me to stay in the truck.

One of my bags, as well as one of Soren's, is in the back seat. So, I open mine and let the lights from the street guide me. As I'm shuffling through my clothes I spot a plain black journal.

I pull it out and find a few art pencils stored in the side pocket beside it. It immediately catches my attention and I take a few of my shirts, pushing them against the door for a comfortable back rest.

Propping my feet up on the suit case, I open the journal and flip through the pages. Half full of drawings, I open it to the very front page. I find it weird that each work has my signature on it, and a date as well as a time on the back.

I flip through the drawings and study them. Most are scenes of nature and animals. I get halfway through when I get curious. There is a drawing of a man, the same man who kissed me.

On the back the date says it was from about a week ago. Below the date is the name Dominic Deleon.

The next page is kind of like a self-drawn family portrait. There are the two men from the other night, a young boy standing in between the two, and five other people, one of them being a woman, who I don't know. Beside one of them is two dogs. One is a German Sheppard and one is a red/blue Healer.

They all have smiles on their faces.

On the back of the page is the names:

Dominic Deleon, Lincon Purcell, Xander Deleon, Brad Deleon, Grant, Austin, Brett, and Sandy. Luna and Lilly.

Deleon. Dominic Deleon?

I turn the page and I gasp. This page has color.

On the far right of the page is a solid white wolf with silver tipped ears and ice blue eyes, who is staring sadly at the wolf on the far left of the page. It is solid white as well, but has black tipped ears with green piercing eyes and a broken look on his features.

Separating them is a black snake with vibrant glowing orange eyes. He's targeting the black and white wolf who appears to care about nothing but the other wolf.

On the back is printed:

Adriel and  Blaire.

I stare at the green eyed wolf, trying to remember when I drew this. Who's Adriel? I don't know any of these people but, apparently, Dominic and Lincon.

The next page is of a police cruiser, the next is me standing in a police uniform beside the same green eyed wolf who is as tall as me. I'm hugging him and we're happy, our bright vibrant smiles enlighten the page.

The next page is just of the wolf. He's sitting in front of a large home.

The next page, as well as the rest, are blank so I close the book. For some reason I feel upset so I decide to go to sleep. I've had multipul dreams lately, but their not clear like the first one.

Their like a puzzle.

Tonight it's a good one. I dream of chasing and playing with the green eyed wolf in a green field.

——-Dominic's POV——-

Tonight's dream was so much better. I was playing with Taylor in my Wolf form, chasing her through the field as she laughed. She was in a beautiful white sun dress.

I jerk awake when I hear a car horn. Lincon is driving, tailing Soren's car while I'm sleeping. We've been taking shifts. I got my whole Pack back together after Grant was stabbed with silver.

He's better now, but it was a bad wound. The rest of the guys, including Sandy, are trailing us. My actual pack, the one I inherited from Samuel, I decided to leave out of this. I can't let any of them get hurt so I left my Third In Command in charge. Considering my Beta is Brad.

I stare at the truck, but I still can't see Taylor because she's laying down. We're a long ways behind them so it's a bit difficult to see at all. I lean back again and try not to think about the nightmares I've had.

Most of them consisting of Soren hurting Taylor or someone in my family. If something in Taylor doesn't remember soon, I'll have to try and take her back. I don't want to scare her away, and if the plan fails, I don't want Soren to hurt her.

That's why that is my last option.

So, I've decided to wait for at least four days. I don't know what he did, but I've been having Grant try and find out. It's either a type of spell, or some kind of medicine of some sort.

Xander is in Sandy's car, so if I get spotted he won't be here for Soren to see. Not to mention he favors Sandy, it's probably because she's a woman and he misses his mom.

"You alright?" Lincon asks, pulling me from my mind.

"Spare me the sappy moment." I reply dully.

"Fine, I'll make my own sappy moment, thank you very much," He starts, "I've been dreaming about her,"

This catches my attention.

"It feels real. I can feel the pain and everything. I even woke up with a bruise, too. Sometimes..." He stops. I know what he's about to say.

I give in and tell him, "I saw her, I was dreaming about when she was shot and in the hospital. I saw a snake and uh... When I was trying to stop it I happened to look up. I saw... Taylor staring at me. I tried to talk to her but as soon as we noticed each other she faded.

"I've done it multiple times. It's only certain dreams that I see a second her. Sometimes I think it's the real her watching." I finish.

"Maybe it is." Lincon reply's.

"Don't get my hopes up, Lincon." I sigh and lean back in the seat.

"I'm serious. I think it may be your connection trying to, well, how do I put this... Reconnect. I know her Wolf's memory had to have been wiped as well, therefor she can't remember either. So, it's up to the only thing left. Your bond. It just can't do it any other way." He explains.

"So you're saying there may be a chance to get her to remember?" I ask.

"Well, you said you can control yourself in the dream, right?" He asks.

"Yeah."

"Well, maybe you can control it all together. Don't try to reach her, but try to give her memories that you two have made. Maybe your wedding, when you marked her, or when Xander was born. When she starts to show signs of remembering, try to reach her. Like, in code or something. Something only the two of you would understand." He suggests.

I nod my head in thought and ask, "Is it possible that... Soren could remove my mark?" I growl.

"No. It's not. She was probably just told it was a tattoo or something." He reply's.

I don't reply and decide I will try this whole dream walking thing. Maybe I can make her remember.

I close my eyes and a few minutes later, the black form color.

Just like always, my heart leaps when I see her sitting on the railroad tracks in the forest, her back to me.

Here goes nothing.
