Kai was once again, staying up and doing work. He had not gotten any sleep in a few months now. Now I'm sure many are wondering how he is even functioning properly without having sleep in that large amount of time, it's because of his quirk. And because he has adjusted his body to having to sleep schedule. He was like this as a kid too... not getting much sleep.
His lights to his room where off, the only light coming from his computer screen. He let out a sigh. He then clinched as he felt someone hug him. He felt a pare of silky soft white wings wrap around him, pulling him into a warm embrace.
"You need to get some sleep. You can't keep on going like this..." Akira said softly to him.
Kai sighed, returning her hug as he turns to face her. "Not until I.. get him back..." Kai responded quietly, finally looking at his sister.
Akira looked at Kai's face, noticing the faint eye bags beneath his eyes that only become more visible with each night that he didn't sleep. She then takes his hand and brings him over to his bed before having him lay down.
Kai sighed again. "Akira.." He said quietly.
"You need to get sleep. You can't keep going on like this. You just can't. You need to get some rest. For me at least okay?"
"Akira." Kai said again.
"Please just sleep. I know you had Mirage come here everyday to help but he has his own restaurant that he needs to run and watch over, just like how you run and watch over this mansion."
"Akira.!" Kai said in a firm voice, finally gaining his sister's attention. "I'm fine... I know that Mirage has his own work. I feel terrible for adding more stress onto his shoulders. But right now I just need someone to rely on, you are busy with your hero work... Mirage was the only other person I knew I could rely on. Heck I think he managed to put a dent in YL's stubbornness and pride and the walls that he keeps up. I know I need sleep... and I know the deductions I'm making aren't the greatest... I'm tired... I'm so fucking tired... But I can't stop now. I need to keep going." Kai said, trying to get up but Akira pushed him back onto the bed, keeping him there.
"Can you not be a workaholic for once? Kai, your health matters. Just relax. Leave everything up to me and mirage okay...? Please... you need to get some rest.." Akira said softly.
Kai sighed for the third time that night- finally deciding to stop 'fighting' with his sister's stubbornness and to just accept it... allowing himself to relax a bit.
Akira smiled softly at him before starting to hum softly in a soothing way.
"... Akira.. If... If our parents where still alive... do you think they would be proud of what I've done...? Or would they be disappointed.?" Kai asks quietly, resting his head on his pillow as Akira gently runs her hand through his hair while humming softly to him.
"... I think they would be.. surprised. But.. they would trust your judgment. After all you have method to your madness. You've proven that to me more than once. You should feel accomplished, just think of everything you have done..." Akira says softly before going back to softly humming.
After a while Kai had finally fallen asleep.
Akira got up, gently putting a blanket over him to cover him so he wouldn't get cold. As she was about to leave she felt someone grab her hand. She looked back to see that Kai was still halfway awake. "... Thank you." He said quietly before letting go of her and going to sleep.
Akira smiles, "Your welcome." She responds softly before walking out of his room, turning off the light.
