Chapter 30

"You look just like her."
Kai speaks to us but we both just stares at him, not wanting to have a discussion.

"She's dead. Get over it."
Iris suddenly replies to him, making him stop his smiles. His eyes turn to a yellow ring around his pupils and his canines grow through his lips.

"You're one to say that."
He replies and growl lowly to us. Esma and I immediately feel threaten and we both positions ourselves in fighting mode. I growl at him low as Iris hisses, showing her long and sharp fangs.

Kai's hands slowly shift to its wolf's form, but it stops soon after his hands finish shifting.

Half shift? What has he done to himself?
I talk to myself, taken aback by his actions. Werewolves can only do a full shift, they can never control the shift process.

If you can control your shift, it means that you either has broken a taboo or you just simply has the gift to do so and I'm sure that Lucas will tell me if Kai can half shift.

With that, Kai Raymond has broken a taboo.

He speeds to us, attacking me with his long black claw aiming to my heart. I fastly dodge his attack by ducking and moving to the side.

Iris attack him with her speed giving him a kick to his open side. I take this chance to do a back kick to his back and slam him to the ground.

He growly lowly as he gets up from the ground with a flash. His breathing heavy, flaring out of his nose. Iris and I take a few steps back from him watching his next moves. He close his eyes but when he opens back, the color of his eyes has changed to red.

Within seconds, he launched at me with an incredible speed. Surprise by this, I barely dodge his attack as his claw tear my upper arm. Blood gush through it and I quickly press it to my other free hands.

Shit, he went feral.

Iris tries to attack him but he fends off it easily. I waste no time and tear my lower shirt and bound it on my wound to stop the bleeding. I am distracted by my wound when he attacks me again punching me in my stomach.

I fly through the clearing coughing out blood. Groaning, I get up slowly and shift into my wolf form. I run and jump onto him, trying to bite his head off but he single-handedly block my mouth with his hands.

He tries kick me on my stomach again but this time I quickly jump off him saving me from another blow. Iris attacks him again using her powers aiming at his heart but she barely succeeded as she scratches his clothes.

While Iris is distracting him, I jump on him biting his legs while Iris changing punches with him. He successfully blocks all the blows from her.

Kai manage to grab her neck and choke her with his hands. Iris frantically scratches him to free herself from his grip. Seeing this, I bite off his leg and throw it across the field.

He groans loudly loosing a bit of grip to Iris's neck. She waste no chance and free herself from him, gasping air.

Suddenly, Kai laughs hysterically at us while covering his face. Iris and I, who are both panting watch him with cautious.

I'm on my way.
Lucas mind link me giving me hope in the last minutes for us.

Kai's body shifted one by one and watching it making me sick. His body hideously shift to its wolf's form and standing even larger than me.

Shit, where the hell is Dario.
I talk to myself.

You better hurry.
I instantly mind link Lucas. Standing close to me is Kai in its wolf form. He is too big for even Iris and I to fight.

When he launches at us, all we can do is dodge, escapes and fend off him. We couldn't even touch him if we want to. He's too feral right now.

"Alyssa, distract him for me."
Iris instructs me, and I nod. I attack him and try to bite off his arm but fails but his focus is now on me.

Mission fails successfully.

I pretend to attack him to buy some time for Iris to whatever her plans are and I hope to moon goddess it works. I glance over to her and she gives me the 'look'. I jump on him and pain him on the ground.

Just as I do that, Iris run to us with her vampire speeds and jabs his chest with a knife. Kai's scream pierces through my ears and I swiftly jump off him.

Watching him lying there in pain, I shift to my human form when he bleeds out, seeing that he can no longer fight. I wear the oversize shirt with shorts that I bring with me prior to the fight that I hid it behind the trees.

I walk close to him and see his wolf form slowly disappear leaving his human form. Up close, the dagger that is punctured on his chest is clearly no ordinary dagger. It's silver. Iris quickly take off her jacket and cover his body up as he cough out blood.

I crouch down to him as I saw his tears slowly running down through his skins. I have so many questions to ask him but I don't think I can ask him right now.

"There's a woman."
He mumbles with his rasp voice.

"Who I loved."
He continues.

Ah

It's Rose isn't it? He's talking about his mate who die a few years back. I can't help but cry for him when he breathe heavily. He must be so lonely all these years from losing his mates.

"I nearly had fucking everything."
He speaks again but this time his voice is slower than before. His skin dulls from losing too much blood. I can only watch him and pray that the moon goddess forgive his sins.

Minutes pass by and his eyes turns to dull gray as he breathe his last breath. I sit there next to him feeling devastated.

Iris stands behind me watching him sadly as she presses my shoulder to calm myself down. I get up to stand when Lucas mind link me.

Iris.

I turn around to face her and out of sudden; she stabs me with another dagger to my chest.

"Her name is Rose Gafner."
