Chapter 8

"Don't say that."
Lucas arch his eyebrow together not liking where this conversation is leading to. I smile, giving him my assurance.

"I know, I know"
I rub his shoulder.

"I'm a woman Lucas, woman thinks about these things you know."
I laugh as I walk towards the bathroom to take my shower even though it was late at night. It's a habit of mine to shower late. Though, everyone is saying it's bad for me but I just love it.

Before I could reach the bathroom, an icy shiver seep through my body and my steps abruptly stop. My forehead form cold sweats and I close my eyes as I inhale a large intake of air to calm myself. Lucas snatch my hands and hugs me from behind.

"Lucas."
I call out to him while gripping at his arm.

"Are you okay?"
He asks me as his brow knitted together. I look over to him confused. Now that I think about it, he must have sense me from our bond.

"I can sense you. Are you okay?"
He asks me again as I turn myself to face him, my eyes meet his concern gaze.

"Well, I think I am. I don't know. Maybe I'm just tired."
I answer closing my eyes trying to pinpoint what is wrong with me.

"I'm okay Lucas."
I assured him with my hundred-watt smile. I need to be because in a few days Lucas is going to have a meeting at the nearby pack so I don't want to worry him.

"Alright. I trust you but don't tire yourself out okay?"
He kisses my forehead leaving his lips there longer than usual. I know he's worried about me but I don't know what's wrong with myself.

"I'm fine Lucas. Stop worrying about me."
I laugh and walk my way to the bathroom.

"I will always worry about you, baby."
I heard Lucas speaks as I close the bathroom door. I chuckle. I look into the mirror and now I know why Lucas worry about me. My skin look pale even though I just ate. I guess I need to eat more.

After finishing my shower, I got out of the bathroom and quickly wear my black nightgown and notice that Lucas has fast asleep on the bed with his knitted eyebrow.

I smile faintly as I climb onto the bed. I lay on my left side and reach for the lamp on the nightstand to turn it off. The room fell into darkness and I feel Lucas move closer to me spooning me from behind.

In a second, I fell asleep from the warmth of being embrace by your love one.

~ Three days later ~

"Luna."
Jen greet me as I walk into the kitchen. It was almost time for lunch. Once a week, a few of the higher ups of the pack member will have a lunch together in the pack house to discuss the things going on in the pack.

Higher up, meaning,
Alpha & Female Alpha (1st in command),
Beta & Female Beta (2nd in command),
Warrior & Female Warrior (3rd in command),
Omega & Female Omega (4th in command).

Today is the day, and I am looking around to see if everything is going smoothly. Lucas's meeting with the other pack take longer than usual, he was supposed to be back today but something come up and he have to stay there.

Ryan is there with him so it ease my mind knowing he's safe. Lucas also told me over the phone that he will stay there for another two or three days. Honestly, I don't really mind. As a luna, I knew things like this will happen so I have to understand his role as an alpha.

"What's for lunch?"
I ask Jen happily.

"Actually, I haven't decide it yet."
Jen speaks slowly. Oh, she's nervous.
