cereal [dreamnap] 🖤

dream sits at his monitor, rewatching some old minecraft videos of him and sapnap.

suddenly, he felt a presence over his shoulder.

"you know you can't sit here and rot in your room all day," sapnap said softly.

"yeah i know, i'm okay now though" dream sinks more into his gamer chair, sulking in his own pain and self-pity.

"at least go get something, you know you could have our favorite..." sapnap says again seemingly distant in dreams mind.

the blond groans as he slips out his chair with a thick blanket over his shoulders.

he gets two bowls out and pours frosted flakes into each bowl with the milk.

i'm okay, i'm okay, i'm okay he repeats in his mind

while he's getting spoons for the two he hears the door knock.

he walks over sluggishly as if his body weighed a ton.

when he opened the door it was no one other than george, his best friend.

george seems taken back by dreams state. the way his eyes were red and dark. his body radiating a smell that wasn't pleasant and him in the same clothes as when he last saw him; a month ago.

"you weren't answering my calls so i got worried," george said as he stepped into the house almost regurgitating at the smell, "why does it smell so badly in here?"

"i don't know what you're talking about, me and sap are just having cereal" dream closed the door and guides the other back to the kitchen.

"you and sap huh?" george raised an eyebrow. he followed into the kitchen behind dream and look at the kitchen table; that had multiple bowls of cereal. at least thirty; that just sat there. some creating mold on the top. "dream?"

"yeah?"

george places a hand on dreams shoulder, "are you okay?" he asks with all the concern in the world.

"yeah; i'm good why do you ask?" he says as he walks into the living room with his bowl and sits down on the couch turning on the television.

he opens youtube and clicks on one saps old videos, laughing at a stupid joke sapnap a made, "remember when you said that babe? that was so funny!" he talks to himself. he couldn't have been talking to george, they weren't in a relationship.

george awkwardly sat next to dream on the couch, "dream...you know that sapnap died months ago, right?"

dream said nothing and just continued to watch the tv.

george sighed and looked around, "can i at least help you clean the kitchen, that cereal is rotting, you might get sick"

"don't touch those, they are his" dream doesn't break eye contact with the screen.

"those are who's?" george asked.

"sapnaps obviously!" he laughs.

[one year ago]

it was 3 am and both the boys had finally moved in with each other after a year of their relationship.

they were head over heels for each other. even though they both had just started youtube and weren't making crazy amounts of money, they still wanted to have a home together. so they worked hard and finally made it happen.

it was the first night in the house and most of the furniture hadn't come in yet so they were left with a blow-up mattress and fairy lights.

"sappp, i'm hungry-" dream dragged out his words.

"i know love, we don't have much food right now beaches the refrigerator hasn't been installed yet. but, i do have something we could have." sapnap grinned.

dream smiled wide and nodded profusely as they stood up from the close to the empty room and tip-toed downstairs like teenagers, whispering and giggling, even though it was there house.

they got downstairs and sapnap opened a cabinet and held up the prize jewl.

"ta-da!" the brunette held up a box of cereal in praise.

"really? frosted flakes?" dream had a stupid smile of his face.

sapnap scoffed "what? this has to be the most superior cereal, in like, the whole world"

"okay okay, i'll trust your word"

and there, at that moment in time. everything was perfect.

"dream i think it would be best to go see a therapist, don't you think?" george asked carefully, very concerned. 

"no don't worry i'll be fine," he looked at george dead in the eyes, "i'll always have him and our cereal"
