Sunday morning.
Sunday morning blues.
Jet pack blues.
Nothing on tv, nothing to listen to, nothing to do.
I would text Brad but he's at church. That's a force of his parents. I start dance soon so I'll be gone Monday afternoons and Tuesday evenings for my classes. I'm basically having a pity party in my room with Buttercup if anyone wants to join!
I'll just draw and listen to music, possible cuddle with Buttercup. You know, my normal life.
I sighed and jumped out of bed. I bent down and touched my toes, then dropped into my splits. While stretching my legs out I hummed some and practiced pointing and flexing my feet.

I went to the living room and plopped down in front of the tv. I turned the playstation on and grabbed a controller. Minecraft was already put in so I hit X and the game started.
2 hours later my phone rang.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Hey, sorry, can I come over?"
"Yeah of course April. Anything wrong?"
"Yeah actually but I'll tell you when I get there."
"Okay, I'll get snacks ready."
"Thanks again Arie!"
"No problem!"
We hung up and I made kool-aid and found some cookies. She entered my house without knocking and looked at me with wild eyes. Her hair was a mess and her skin pale.
"I'll get some movies."
"Arie." She whimpered before bawling her eyes out. "You know what to do if your parents are hurting you, right?"
"Yeah, why?" I asked worriedly.
"My mom did this to me this morning before church." She lifted her shirt and on her right hip was a huge black and purple bruise.
"Oh my gosh, that looks like it hurts. I'll grab some ointment that'll help."
"Thank you so much Arie!" She hugged me tight and layed down on my couch clutching a pillow and shaking. I felt terrible for the girl because I had felt the same way.
I was frightened and ran away. I ran to my best friends house but when I got there I forgot she had moved. I sat on her porch steps and called her but she never answered her phone anymore. I shook my head as I grabbed the ointment and came back to the living room.
"Here." I said quietly to not frighten her even more. She took the bottle and squeezed the liquid onto her hip and rubbed it in. She gave me the bottle and I put it back in the medicine cabinet.
"Wanna watch a movie since you're already here?" I asked calmly. She shook her head yes and I put Big Hero 6 in since it just came out on dvd a week ago.
We watched about 2 more movies, ate a whole box of cookies and a container of juice. Brad came over and brought us another movie and joined us for milkshakes and Oreos.
"This is amazing Arie! Where did you learn to make these milkshakes?!"
"My dad, he had a secret recipe."
"Really?" April asked.
"No, not really, he just added a little something else to the mix."
We all smiled as we watched Here Comes The Boom staring Kevin James.
It was getting late and Brad went home with hugs from me and a wet shirt from April. My mom let April stay over for the night so she would come to school with me in the morning tomorrow.
We went to my room and I let her sleep in my bed. I grabbed my sleeping bag and lay on it with Buttercup by my side and my music low.

All movies/snacks in this chapter are real and delicious or amazing. In other words some of my favorite things!
