We had gotten our food and sat down at a picnic table outside. The shrimp was delicious and my wild strawberry lemonade was amazing. The sun beat down upon our shoulders as we ate.

I couldn't help but feel guilty that I didn't tell my mom I wouldn't be home today. I looked at my phone and saw that I had no texts or calls. I texted my mom.

"Sorry about the other night. I'm out with a friend, see you at 7."

I locked my phone and sighed. Brad looked up at me and smiled.

"Don't worry about your mom. She'll come around soon, I promise!" Brad smiled again and went inside to get more food.

I smiled and followed him in. I grabbed some crab legs, fried oysters, and some fried shrimp. I used to come to the beach with my dad every year before he was abusive. He taught me how to make a sand castle and surf a wave. Before we came home we would always eat at a seafood buffet then get some ice cream after.

I sat back down and looked at an old photo of my dad and I sitting on the tail gate of the truck smiling. I smiled and put my phone back in my bag.

"Brad?" He looked up at me.

"Yeah?" He asked.

"You know why I love the beach so much?"

"Why?" He started to smirk.

"I used to come here with my dad every year before you know what."

"I'm sorry Arie."

"Don't be!" I said sternly. "It was amazing! We still need to get ice cream and mini golf! Can we?!" I was super excited now and acted like my 10 year old self asking my dad if we could go glow in the dark mini golfing.

"Sure!" He laughed.

We drove down the road and the Palm trees were blurring as we drove by. We pulled into a parking lot and I looked up.

Captain Crackers Crazy Mini Golf.

I chose my ball and my golf club as Brad paid for us.

"Enjoy your game with your girlfriend!" The cashier said.

"We're just friends." I whisper shouted while blushing.

First hole was simple and we both got a hole in one.

Hole two I got two and Brad got three.

Hole three Brad caught up and got two while I got three. This was going to be an intense game!

"Okay, loser has to buy the ice cream!" We were on the last hole. All I needed was a hole in one and I won. I hit it and it bounced off the wood then rolled over the carved rock and onto the hole perfectly!

"Yes!" I screamed.

I started jumping up and down and I hugged Brad. "That's my first time winning! My dad always beat me!"

Brad laughed and bought me my king cone and he got a swirl pop.

"We better get you home for dinner." Brad stated sadly.

"Okay." We got into his truck once again and I started to draw all of the stuff we did today in one picture. He dropped me off and I said good bye as I walked into the house. My mom was asleep on the couch so I went to my room quietly. I sat on my bed and cuddled with Buttercup the cat.

"I love you Buttercup!" She purred slowly as I stroked her fur.
