"Don't we all have a goal in life?" My language arts teacher blabbed on. "Arie." I turned my head to look at her. "What's your goal in life?"

I thought about this for a moment before opening my mouth. "To be happy again, and to be unharmed, or be a successful dancer. Maybe even a writer or artist."

She smiled and said something about how a goal can be even as small as being happy. "Arie if you had to chose between a writer or artist what would you chose?"

"I would be a artist." I said quickly.

"Why is that?" She asked interested.

"Because an artist can put writing into art without actually writing."

She smiled at me and so did everybody else. They actually understood what I meant. I asked Miss Fredrick if I could show the class an example so I did.

"This shows that I like these bands without saying it. Think of a poster you have in your room. It says you like it without you having to say it." I smiled and the bell rang for lunch. I grabbed my books and put them in my bag but was stopped by Miss Fredrick.

"Here, give this to Mr. Dale, the advanced placement teacher for classes."

"Thank you!" I was being put into an AP class! This is amazing. Before I went to lunch I stopped at the office and gave the paper to Mr. Dale. When I got to lunch I realized I didn't exactly make a friend so I sat on the staircase eating my sandwich.

"Hey there, a nice girl like you shouldn't be sitting alone during lunch." It was Bradley.

"Yeah, your right, can I sit with you?" I basically pleaded.

"Yeah! No problem! Follow me." He grabbed my wrist and led me to a table in the corner.

"Arie, meet April, Toby, Percy, and Megan."

They all said their hello's and so did I. I sat down beside April and Bradley and pulled out my drawing notebook once again. I had finished the stack of book bands and was moving onto a ballerina picture.

"What grade are all you guys in?" I asked my new friends.

"Well everyone at this table but April and Percy are in 10th."

I smiled with a pencil in my mouth. I was super concentrated on the figure of the girl right now.

April looked over and was astounded. "That's amazing Arie!" I smiled again.

Maybe this whole high school thing will turn out well for me...
