4 The Button

Rain didn't stop since last night. Everything in the surface was wet, and still receives the downpour. The rainwater flowed from the small pond on the uncared pavement which created holes near the shabby houses. The water wasn't clear, nor brown color from the mixture of the soil. It was crimson red. About half a meter from that small pond was a woman laid on the pavement with eyes wide open and never blink. Anymore. The droplets hitting his semi naked body which half of it was inside the narrow alley.

It was only 5 in the morning,.when the scene invited the noise from the crowded that created, after a passer by came amd saw the gruesome scene before his eyes.

"I was going to the market. I'm selling vegetables there! And I saw her lying there already!" Cried the man who found the body when police asked him.

"Sir!" An officer came approaching the Captain, handing him something in his hand.

Yibo took the small thing from the officer's hand and evaluates it. Then he glanced at the officer.

"Metal button again?" He said.

The officer nodded. "In the woman's hand."

Yibo silent. He seemed to think of something.

"This button is not accidentally grabbed by the victim. The murderer purposely put the button as the sign of the murder he's been committed...." Yibo said in a low voice.

"He wants us to find him!" Cried the officer.

Yibo turned again to the officer.

"He's a true psychopath...." Hissed Yibo. He handed the button back to the officer. "Surrender the evidence to Fan Xing tobe evaluated!" He said, walking away.

"Where are you going, Sir?" The officer asked, accepting the button.

"Find something hot for my early breakfast!" Replied the Captain without turning.

Yibo walked to a coffee shop nearby in the area. He found a street coffee vendor and took a seat on one of the bench provided by the shop. There were a few customers who enjoying the coffee and hot buns in the shop. They're eating and talking about the murder that just occured around their neighborhood recently. The appearance of Yibo in his casual outfits made them don't suspect him as a police.

"I think this murderer hates the prostitutes so much!" Said one of the customers.

"How do you know that?" The other man asked.

"Well, there are two murder cases already. And the victims are always the hooker!" Replied the earlier man.

"I think he loves and hates the hookers at the same time. The victims always found dead naked or half naked!" Cried the third man.

"Sshhh! Don't be anyhow speculated! Who knows the killer is among us now!" An older man who suspect as a shop owner came and put a bowl of hot buns on their table.

Those people murmuring something, agreeing the older man. And they change the topic of their convo to other things.

"Uncle! One coffee and two red bean buns!" Yibo shouted.

"Yes, Sir!" The old man replied, turns to Yibo's table. Then he rushed back to the counter to get his order.

The people at the other table turned their gazes to Yibo, and they whispering. Yibo didn't know what they whispering about, and he didn't take it as a matter.

His order came. He took a sip of his coffee.

"Uncle Chu! As usual!"

A man's voice appeared and shouted to the shop owner.
