38 CONFUSING CONSPIRACY

It was silent in the night. Most of the people are in their deep sleep including Yibo and Zhan. They had a good sleep after along day of working, investigating the cases that kept coming one after another.

At the time when they enjoying their resting time, Yibo's cellphone vibrated on the nightstand, creating the loud sound when it shaken against the table. Yibo let out a groan, feeling disturbed by the sound. He released his hand that hugging Zhan, while Zhan moved away and turned his back to continue his sleep.

Yibo rummaged on the table and his hand found the cellphone that makes his sleep got corupted. He squinted his eyes to check the caller ID and he turns the lnedside lamp on, then he slides the answer button.

"Wei?" he answered the callwith is hoarse and sleepy voice.

"Boss! Something happened in the woman's house!" the voice from the phone.

"Which woman?" Yibo groaned.

Hearing Yibo talking that he was sure about the ongoing case they're investigating about, Zhan turned back to Yibo and joins him. Yibo glanced at him while waiting for the answer from the caller. He pulled Zhan closer.

"Chang Su woman!" the caller answered.

Yibo got up from his sleeping position. Zhan watched him.

"What happened to her?" asked Yibo.

"She got killed!" reported the caller. "In the alley...!" he added.

"What??" Yibo snapped. He turned to Zhan who also getting up and sat beside him.

"Ok. Hold on! I'll get there now! Clear up the scene and closed the alley for public right now! I'll call Chief now!" said Yibo.

"Yes, Boss!"

Yibo hung up the call. He threw the blanket and climbed down the bed, then he put his clothes on.

"I'm going with you!" said Zhan, also throwing the blanket and follows what Yibo doing.

"No, Zhan! You stay at home! They're targeting you now! This is what they want! Setting the bait for you to come. They know that you are working with me!" Yibo declined Zhan's idea.

"You need me, Captain!" Zhan retorted.

"Yes I need you! I need you to be safe, Zhan! If I bring you around to solve the case now, it will only endanger you!" replied Yibo.

"Isn't it more dangerous if you leaving me here alone? I guess they know that I'm staying in your house and they maybe know your house, too!" 

Yibo grabbed Zhan's shoulders.

"Baby...! I won't let anything bad happens to you. I'll send Oppa to protect you....!" said Yibo. Then he kissed Zhan before he strode out of the room.

"Yibo! I can't just sitting around here!" shouted Zhan.

"I love you!" replied Yibo. He pulled the key from its hole and opened the door. He looked at Zhan.

"I need to lock you up here while Oppa is on the way here, Love. I'm sorry...!" said Yibo.

Zhan gasped. Before he could grab Yibo, Yibo has already opens the door and jumped out before he closed the door again and locked it from outside.

"Yibo! I swear! You'll regret it!" Zhan screamed. He banged on the door.

Yibo looked at the door with a regret eye. Then he shook his head. He kept the key inside the unused shoe cabinet outside before he leaves the house and Zhan who keeps banging on the door.
