Three days later...

We'd taken the time to enjoy ourselves and try out her being on bed rest. Which she wasn't used to yet but seemed to enjoy being able to just read all day if she felt like it. The time was important to us so we could spend some time cuddling and I was stroking her back not excited for the trip home because of what that would mean.

Back to being my old self to make things safer for the three of us. It would take a period of adjustment for sure because I'd have to be okay with being somewhat cruel, but reign it back so that I wouldn't be too nasty and cruel with the normal criminals we have.

"Are you going to be able to keep yourself under control Daddy?" she asked.

I knew with how she was talking that she was genuinely trying to find out if she was going to break me and return me to how I used to be. Images of flying with the Chitauri and blowing up buildings in New York went through my brain as I debated if I really would be able to do it or if I would end up sticking with that old mindset.

"I think I'll be okay. That's as honest as I can be Kitten, I can do my best to keep my wits about me. But I think that with you being pregnant that will help to ground me so I don't stay in the darkness too long." I kissed her on the forehead and held her closer.

"I guess that's the most honest you can be about it. Hopefully it won't take too much longer for everything to be back to normal."

"I doubt it will, there's not a whole lot that we have to do to get back to normal. But we also don't want to rush the pregnancy now do we?"

"That depends, if he's going to keep up staying on my bladder then I might want it over sooner rather than later." she said jokingly. "I guess this means you'll have to head back shortly." she lowered her eyes and I knew she didn't want me to leave, and neither did I.

"I'm sorry Kitten, I don't want to go back without you."

"I know you don't. But honestly this is important and you have to go back there."

There was a knock on the door and Tony asked. "Are you both decent?" when we yelled back yes he opened the door and stood before us with his hands behind his back. "So, I thought of something to help you both with the separation issues." he moved his hands and showed he was carrying a small box for us. It was dark in color and had a small bow on top. He handed it to her saying "This should help some, it's a radio of sorts. It'll let you guys talk even though you are on earth and he is on Jotunheim. This way you can try to converse back and forth and not have to feel like you can't even say goodnight or I love you to one another."

"That is amazing dad. I didn't think you could actually do that. I mean, I posited the idea but I didn't think we could actually do that."

"Well to be honest I wasn't sure if it would be either. But since the idea was there I had to try and build it. I just hope it will work for you both as long as you need it."

I stood up and held a hand out to him. "Thank you very much Tony, this means a lot to us both. I'll be so happy I can finally tell her goodnight each night."

Tony smiled and said a quick goodbye as he left us alone again.

"That was nice of him, I didn't think he would be able to actually accept us."

"I wasn't sure if he ever would, but I think this is a good show of how much he cares." she looked at the device, there were two of them and they looked just like regular earbuds, but she knew if they were created by her father then they were anything but. "I guess just put these in and we can hear and talk to each other?"

I picked up one of the pair and put one side in while she did the same. "Can you hear me?" I whispered.

She nodded and asked. "Can you hear me too?"
