Over the next year we spent the majority of our time working on getting things in place for the first set of classes at the newly built auditorium. The journey to opening our world to others began with a single step and was nearly complete as the finishing touches were being put on the United Interrealm Council building where the representatives from each of the realms in our alliance would meet.
Sadly we weren't able to get every realm to step up to the table but with seven of the nine it was a good start. The only ones who would come to the table were Asgard, Jotunheim, Alfheim, and Nidavellir. Some of us had hoped that the Vanir would have shown at least a little interest in joining the council, but it wasn't a huge surprise that they decided not to show. As far as we knew they might not even be alive any longer, the last time a Vanir was seen was back when Odin took the throne.
Because of all the mistrust and bad blood between our worlds it was hardest to find a place that was neutral enough we could all meet there and not have any worries. And so we worked together to create what we all referred to as the White Ship. A large space yacht that had room enough for over two hundred people at max capacity, built with each world's race in mind so there was a colder area that was for the Jotuns, there was an extremely hot area for the dwarves, and so on and so forth.
Each race had their own designs included into the yacht so that no one race would feel they were either slighted or that there was too much of one race's designs. The move was perfect, the ship would go into orbit around a moon that was in a neutral zone so to speak, it was the only thing we could get them to agree on before we actually had a full on council to oversee everything.
"It's finally coming to pass Kitten, we have some of the most extreme changes to our race happening right before our very eyes. The changes we were already able to enact were huge for us, and we watched them change in our lifetime. We are literally living history."
"I hear what you're saying Daddy, but I still hope we can get them to agree to the rest of what we want."
"I'm sure we will. Look at how they have reacted to the change of having nurseries and daycares, we've seen a huge change in how our society perceives women, and how our women perceive themselves even."
"That's true. And I think Lynsa enjoys her new position as the head of the nursery."
"She does. That was one of the best ideas you came up with."
Lynsa was so good with children despite not having any of her own. So when we gave her the choice to be the head of the nursery she practically jumped at the chance. And so far it proved to be the right one. She'd been joined by half a dozen other jotun females who either couldn't have children, or who had many and wanted to pass along their knowledge. They had their own version of mothering classes where the eldest female of the house would teach the pregnant women of the house their secrets and now that they were all working together no one family kept their secrets. They shared and enriched the race as a whole.
Everything was documented, from the way they performed a C-section to the way they cured fever in frost giant children. Oddly enough it was similar to how we treated fevers on midgard.
"Have you heard anything back from Bucky as to if he's found a place yet for the next time you visit?" I asked her hoping she would tell me he had. With how her father had been lately i was getting tired of hearing him bitch about everything from our "unconventional relationship" to the fact that we were trying to bring peace enough that Jotuns could visit earth.
I remembered when I told him about that and what happened. See according to him we didn't have any place on earth and so we should just stay on our frozen world. I couldn't figure out if that was meant as a general thing where he just didn't like us Jotuns, or if he was just being prejudiced against me so I had to remind him. "You do know your grandchildren are half Jotun right? Or did you conveniently forget about that in your righteous anger or whatever the hells you call it?"
