That night we spent most of our time saying sweet nothings to each other, then for some reason there was knock at the door. William let out a small angered sigh and unravelled himself from my arms before pulling his breeches on. He made his way over to the door and opened it "Borden? The night is growing rather late"

"I'm here to ask if you still want to go to the Inn, you said a week ago that you would"

William looked over to me for approval, to which I nodded, before looking back at Borden "Of course, give me a few minutes to say goodbye and I shall meet you at the stables" With those words he smiled, nodded, and walked back down the hall.

"Enjoy yourself, but please don't come back paralytic"

"I won't, I will be back before the sun rises" As he spoke he put his shirt and waistcoat on. He came to sat next to me on the bed and turned to face me.

"I love you" I mumbled as William kissed my forehead gently.

"I love you more" he smiled and pulled his boots on "I'll be back my darling" William mumbled and moved a stray lock of hair out of my face. He softly ran the backs of his fingers over my cheek "I will be here when you wake" with those words he stood up and walked over to the door "Sleep tight my Mable" and then he left.

Obviously I felt a little lonely at first but eventually I got to sleep.

Tavington's POV

"Chin up my friend, you've been gone for 10 minutes"

"It's rather difficult leaving your wife on your honeymoon"

"I think that you've gone soft, where is the William Tavington who drank almost every night, who attracted woman and who didn't care about what other people thought?"

"Well now I have a loving wife, to whom I return such affection, and you were the one who told me to marry her"

"Fair enough" Eventually our little group made it to the Inn, we tied our horses to the fence and made our way in. Almost instantly 3 woman came up to us, James and I looked at each other and made our way to the bar "I remember when you wouldn't have said no to them"

"And now I do" I spoke simply and gestured for 2 drinks. As I spoke a woman came up behind me and tapped my shoulder, bidding for me to turn around.

"so you're the famed butcher?" she smirked and balled at the fabric of my shirt.

"Hmm" was my response, I took a drink from the tankard I was given before turning around. Her hand travelled down my front and then up to my shoulder. I took a few coins from my pocket and put them in her hand. Borden gave me a 'What the fuck' look and the woman tried taking my hand.

"What would you me to do sir?"

"go away" I smirked and turned back towards the bar. James nodded and took a small drink from his cup "How did you ever deal with this?"

"You get used to it"

"so I'll be skint at the end of the night?"

"You're a Colonel, isn't your fortune in England?"

"Well mostly, I gave Mable a copper ring because I couldn't afford gold"

"I'm sure she didn't mind, no?"

"She isn't like other women, she's smart, beautiful, funny...I got the luck of the draw if you ask me"

"I've never seen you this happy" Borden laughed and took a swing of his drink "I didn't know you could be"

"and about my fortune, I have around 200 pounds-"

"200 pounds?! William that's a lot of bloody money!"
