I woke up to William putting his boots on "I must be going now my darling, Borden requests my presence" William mumbled before kissing the top of my head "I love you" he covered me in the duvet once again.

"I love you too" as I spoke I nuzzled into the pillows.

"I shall see you in a few hours, if I'm not back by sundown I'm probably dead in a field somewhere"

"Very funny, enjoy yourself" I laid on my side and shot him a tired yet loving smile. He knelt down and brought me into a kiss "Be safe"

"I will" William smiled and stood up once again "I'll see you soon" then with those words he left and closed the door behind him.

Initially I fell back to sleep until there was a knock at the door before a maid walked in "I'm sorry to intrude, miss?"

"Mable, Mable Smith"

"So you're Colonel Tavington's future wife, he is one lucky man" the maid smiled before laying William's dress uniform on his desk "your wedding is tomorrow, isn't it?"

"Yes, truth be told I cannot wait"

"Have you a dress?" she asked as she folded up his cravat.

"I do, but we both decided on a swift wedding due to the war and all"

"Oh right, I see" The maid nodded before walking to the door "Well I'm done here, goodbye"

With those words she left and closed the door behind her. I smiled to myself before walking up to his desk and sitting in his chair. A few maps were scattered across the desk along with a compass and pocket watch. Then I saw his journal, open on a drawing of sorts, I didn't read it because I didn't want to invade his privacy. For a while I stared at his uniform and thought about him being at the alter, waiting for me to walk down the aisle.

"Darling" I turned my head to see William smiling and leaning against the doorframe "Borden has finally let me go" as he spoke he let out a small laugh and walked towards me "He will be a witness, along with around 20 others"

"who are the others?"

"Lord Cornwallis, O'hara and a few others that I don't know the names of" He shook his head before taking his overcoat off "Mainly for an excuse to get drunk"

"I don't care who goes, as long as I see you at the altar"

"Don't worry, I won't miss my own wedding" William rolled his eyes and shot me a small smile "Anyway I have something for you" he smiled and reached inside of his pocket and brought our a small silver chain "I saw this in Charlestown and thought of you"

"You shouldn't have" I smiled up at him and shook my head "thank you"

William let out a small chuckle before bringing me into a kiss "Well, future Mrs Tavington, get used to me spoiling you beyond belief" he gave me a soft peck on the cheek "May I?"

"Of course" I turned around and moved my hair to the side.

William softly brushed his hand down my arm before kissing me on the neck. He very tenderly placed the chain around my neck before clipping it together "what do you think?"

I smiled to myself before looking in the mirror "it's absolutely beautiful Will" he came up behind me and enclosed his arms around me, his smile was bright enough to light a room "We look good together, don't you think?"

"The only thing I can see, is one astonishingly gorgeous woman" William muttered under his breath before resting his chin on my shoulder "May I kiss you?"

"Of course you can" with my words he gently pressed his lips to my neck, kissing it gently before looking back in the mirror.

"And by the way I love what you just called me"

"What, Will?"

"Well my name is a little long, wouldn't you say?"

"I said that at Fort Carolina and you specifically told me that you didn't like the name"

"Well my dear, times change, we are to be married at dawn"

"Who would've thought, we met barely a month ago"

"And to think, I have loved you all of this time"

I turned to face him and buried my face into his chest "I can't wait to be yours, tomorrow cannot come sooner"

"We will be each others, and we will make our own home and family"

"You wish for a family?"

"More than anything"

"then I shall try my best to give you a child" I smiled and looked up at him, resting my chin on his chest as I did so.

"to give us both a child" William took my hands into his and held them over my belly "only if you wish so, of course"

"I've always dreamed of having a loving husband and a few children and I already have a part of that dream"

"a little version of me and you, hopefully they will turn out like you otherwise keep a rolled up newspaper on standby" William laughed slightly and gently ran his fingers through my hair.

"You will make an excellent father"

"And you a caring mother" he mumbled before kissing my neck softly "I will try to be the best husband for you, I will make it my priority to make your dreams come true" his voice was just above a whisper.

"and I will make yours come true"

"My dream has already come true, I have you" William tilted my chin up and softly kissed me "I have the woman I love the most in my arms"
