Once William left with his unit, I made myself at home on our bed and started reading. I moved some hair out of my face and looked towards the window, hopefully he will be back soon. When an hour had passed I decided to clean the room, mainly just moving clothes and moving some clutter from William's desk.

Most of the day went by agonisingly slow, and once the sun started to set a bundle of nerves formed in my stomach. Was he alright?

My questions were soon answered when I heard the distant thundering of horse hooves. I closed my book and rushed over to window, William was at the front of the group and in an instant he looked up to the window of our room. He didn't exactly look happy but not upset, it was more of an expression of relief. William dismounted his horse and looked looked up at our room once again.

Borden tapped his shoulder and he turned to the side, handed him a letter before walking his horse towards a fence. He looked at the letter and then stuffed it in his pocket before handing his horse stable master. I smiled to myself and waited for him.

25 minutes passed before William stumbled into the room and rushed up to me, lifting me up into his arms afterwards "Hello my love" he mumbled into my hair before spinning me around.

I laughed and clutched onto his jacket before wrapping my legs around his waist "hello Will" I muttered and rested my head on his chest "You're late, by the way"

"I do apologise" he smirked and hitched me upwards before sitting me on the edge of his desk "What will become of me"

"I'm serious, I thought that you were dead!" I punched his shoulder before running my hand over it "I-I'm sorry, that was wrong of me..." William just looked at his shoulder and then back at me "I'm truly sorry Will..."

He took in a deep breath and rolled his eyes "Stop bloody apologising, it didn't hurt at all"

"But it was still wrong of me" I looked down before ringing my hands.

William took my hands and placed them on his shoulders "I'm made of stronger stuff" he smiled and tenderly tilted my chin up "And I'm honoured to accept your punches"

"It was still wrong"

"What did you expect my reaction to be?"

"Men usually don't like receiving punches from their wives"

"But I'm not like other men, I promised my mother that I would never lay my hands on a woman" William mumbled before smiling and brushing his fingers over my lips "and I will never break that promise"

"I'm sorry-" He placed his index finger on my lips.

"Stop apologising" he sighed and brushed some hair out of my face.

"Can we both just agree on one thing"

"And what would that be?"

"that we both love each other"

"I can agree a million times to that" He smiled and closed the minute gap between us both "T-t-t" William coughed slightly and looked to the side. His stammer.

I cupped his cheek gently and turned his head back to face me "Take in a deep breath with me" He nodded and deeply inhaled with me "That's it Will" we did it once again.

"T-thank you" William mumbled as I took his hands into mine "that's the first time that's happened in god knows how long"

I gently stroked his cheek causing him to nuzzle into my hand "in my opinion, it makes you handsome"

William smiled for a second before looking down at my lips "Maybe in your opinion, in other people's eyes, I'm uneducated"

"and in my eyes, I don't care if its a stammer or if you're an amputee, I love you" I shuffled a little closer towards him and ran my hands up his chest.
