When William and I parted for the evening he kissed me softly on the cheek "I love you" he muttered before walking back to his side of the corridor.

"I love you so much more"

Sleep somehow came easily to me that night and by the morning I was beaming with excitement. It was weird not waking up next to him although I knew that he was getting ready to go to the church. One of the maids helped me get into my wedding dress. My hair was plaited back with a white silk ribbon to match my wedding dress. I looked in the mirror before turning towards the servant.

"you look beautiful miss" the servant complimented me.

"Thank you..."

"There is no need to be nervous Miss"

"I still can't believe it" I took in a deep breath and looked towards the door "He has already left for church, hasn't he?"

"He left around a half hour ago"

"has the carriage arrived?" I asked quietly before turning back around.

"At the same time as the Colonel left"

"Alright...I think I'm ready" as soon as I spoke there was a knock at my door "Come in" I turned to see captain Borden holding a bouquet of lavender.

"William wanted me to give you these and he also asked for me to walk you down the aisle"

"Thank you, Captain" I smiled and took the bouquet from his hands "And it would be lovely if you would do that"

"The carriage is waiting if you would allow me to escort you there" He offered me his arm and I gladly took it. As we walked through Middleton Place, my thoughts were only of William "there is no need to be nervous, He will be there"

"But how do I know that I'm doing the right thing?"

"That's the thing, you never know what will happen but it is quite clear that you both love each other" Borden smiled and opened the door for me, I thanked him and walked through "And trust me when I say, he is madly in love with you"

"Is he?"

"Well he never had any intentions to get married, but then he met you on the dirt road and he wouldn't stop talking about you" As he spoke we walked through the courtyard "nothing could wipe the smile off his face"

"He's a good man and I do love him"

"then let's get you wed, hmm" he opened the carriage door before offered me his hand, I took it and got into the carriage with James following closely behind "just saying, he was even more nervous than you this morning"

"he's adorable when he's nervous" it was only a short ride to the church however because of my nerves it felt longer.

Borden got out first and offered me his arm "are you ready?"

"Well I can't leave him standing there alone" I smiled and took his arm before exiting the carriage "Let's do this" I took in a deep breath as we started to walk towards the open doors. As we walked through a corridor the sounds of people talking deceased and they turned towards me. They all stood up before William turned around, I couldn't help but smile when I saw him. His uniform looked incredible, his scarlet red overcoat was pristine with no wrinkles, his hair was tied back neatly and the smile on his face sent all of my anxiety away. I was marrying the man that I cherished and loved.

Within no time I was next to him, taking his hand and walking up towards the altar "You look stunning" William muttered before stopping and turning towards me.

"And you look dashing" I beamed before we both looked towards the priest, who had a Bible in his hands.

The clergyman smiled and took a few steps towards us both "Are you both ready?" In response, me and William both nodded and glanced at each other once again "Then let's begin" He opened the Bible and started reading
