NOTE: this is the final chapter. thank you for reading <3

Fred ran around the school with George at his side while they looked for Evelyn. She had to be somewhere. Perhaps hiding or just in plain sight. He wanted to tell her Harry won. Maybe she watched it happen like he and so many others did. Maybe he just didn't see her. Still, George helped him look around. Finally they wandered upon a blood trail. Small, dry drops. Fred hesitantly followed, expecting to find someone who had a wound and didn't know where to go. Instead he saw a blonde girl laying on a window sill. Limp and lifeless as her arm hung down.

George stopped in his tracks when he saw who the girl was. Fred, not noticing, walked up to the body to carry it down. The moment he stood over the body he recognized the face. A girl he'd loved for so long it hurt when she left. Slowly as sobs began to make him weak, so he lowered to his knees. Holding her limp hand that hung off he cried.

An hour or so later of pure silence between the twins, Fred stood and lifted the body. She was cold to the touch and her eyes were thankfully closed. George followed his puffy eyed brother down to the Great Hall where everyone was sat, celebrating. Fred entered the hall and no one noticed him. Those who did, such as Lee Jordan, tried to run over and hug him in celebration but stopped when they saw who he carried.

Alexander had no care in the world when he found out and married his mistress, Maria, as her fiancé died in the battle. Draco was distraught over the loss along with his mother who could cry at the sight of her son for days afterward. Simply as they're hair color was similar. Lucius didn't exactly know how he felt but did cry once and only once. It seemed that the Weasley's grieved more over the loss than the girls actual family.

The funeral had an open casket. Many walked by and placed a flower inside, stared at the body or just cried. Many living Order members stood in the back to show respect in a way. As it kinda-but-not-really was their fault for sending her back, though she had a choice not to go. Fred stood at the casket and stared at the body. She didn't look right. Something was off. She didn't look, herself. Fred simply sighed and let his shoulders drop as he exhaled.t

"I love you," Fred whispered ever so gently as he placed the orange, flowery bandana over her hands which were clasped. He stared at the rings on her fingers before back to her face. "My beloved Evelyn. I always will love you."
