I Need A Hero Vol. 4 {Peter Quill}

Carol made her way to Gwen's room. She was ready to set Plan Get Peter and Gwen Back Together in motion. The plan was to get them to make up the five anniversaries they missed because of the snap. Maybe that will help them rekindle their romance. She found herself outside Gwen's door. She could hear sobbing come from the other side.

"Gwen?" Carol asked. "You okay in there?"

"C-Carol?" Gwen sniffed. "Y-you can come in"

Carol opened the door. She was greeted by the sight of Gwen sitting in her bed, surrounded by wet tissues. It broke Carol's heart to see her like this. "Do you want to talk about it?" Gwen nodded. Carol walked over to the bed. She cleared some of the tissues away so she could have a spot to sit on the bed. "We saw you leave the party. Meredith is really worried about you. And she's also really worried about Peter. He left shortly after you did"

"He did?"

"Yep. Look, you may not see it, but everyone else does" Carol said. She began rubbing Gwen's back. "Dad still really loves you, mom. I just think he doesn't know how to process the fact that he was snapped for five years, and you weren't. He probably didn't think you'd move on"

Gwen let a smile crack when she realized. "You called us mom and dad"

Carol smiled too. "Well, you guys are my parents now"

"But," Gwen went back to the matter at hand. "Peter did tell me he was okay if I moved on. Those who were snapped away were sent to live inside the Soul Stone. I know this because the Clairvoyant took me there briefly to say my goodbyes to Peter. He said and I quote "I want you to know that it's alright to move on. I don't want you to be lonely while I'm gone" 

"Maybe he doesn't remember. Anyone who was in the Soul Stone probably had a memory swipe" 

"Oh, God" Gwen put her face in her hands. "He doesn't remember saying that to me, and if I try to convince him that's what he said, he'll think I'm crazy"

"Mom, mom" Carol took Gwen's hands in hers. "How about to get your mind off of it, you come to the bar with Meredith and I? I hear that every bar on Kosmo has karaoke?"

Gwen laughed. "Yeah, it was Peter's idea to do that"

"So, you'll come with us tomorrow?" Carol grinned hopefully.

"Sure, I'll be there. It's been awhile since I've had any sort of fun like that"

"Good" A picture on the nightstand caught Carol's attention. In it was Gwen and a green woman. The two of them were smiling and had their arms around each other's shoulder. Carol grabbed the picture. "Who's this?"

"That's Gamora" Gwen explained. "She was like my sister"

"Was?" Carol was confused. She was sure she saw Gamora during the battle against Thanos. "Wasn't she there during the--"

"That wasn't my Gamora" Gwen explained. "That was a Gamora from a different timeline. One that didn't even know who I was" She took the picture from Carol and stared at it. She let out a laugh. "If only Gamora were here, she would slap some sense into Peter"

Peter knew it wasn't a good idea to bring a disorientated woman into a party, but he did it anyway. The Elven woman look around, wide eyed at the scene and she smiled. "Al party! Sen momentous occasion are sar celebrating?"

"My daughter's engagement" Peter answered.

The woman's eyes lit up. "Sal bet vian A'Sum nha Veluthe"

"I don't mean to sound rude, but do you know English or is it all broken?"

"Apologies" the woman said. "It has been so long since I haven spoken in front of mortal man. You never told me your name"
