I Need A Hero Vol. 4 {Peter Quill}

The Morag team was waiting for 2014 Peter and 2014 Gwen to arrive. While they were waiting, Meredith grabbed something from one of her pockets. She presented it to Gwen. It was her energy sword.

"You dropped this back when Thanos was killed. Auntie Helena picked it up. She never had the chance to return it to you before you left" Meredith explained. Gwen smiled and grabbed it.

"Thank you" she said.

"Guys, I think I hear something" Kraglin said. Everyone stayed silent as they listened for movement. Instead, they heard off-key singing, and Gwen immediately knew who it was.

"There he is" She peeked her head out. The sight was very familiar to her. Peter was listening to Come and Get Your Love on his walkman. He was dancing around, using a poor Orloni as a microphone. Gwen smiled to herself.

It was Peter, alive and well. He was actually dancing in front of her. He was actually singing in front of her. He was actually in front of her. She missed him so much, and after five years, she was actually looking at him.

She felt this invisible pull, that was urging her to go to him. But she knew she couldn't. She shouldn't. Especially when she saw her past self not far behind him, staring at him like a love sick teenager. Peter serenaded to 2014 Gwen, which caused her to smile at him. He grabbed her hand and then twirled her around. Present Gwen could feel herself becoming jealous of her past self.

"So, he's an idiot" Rhodey commented.

"Yeah" Nebula agreed.

"Hey! That's my husband you're talking about. Ex-husband? That me's future husband?" Gwen was starting to confuse herself. "But yeah, he is an idiot. He's my idiot"

"You don't look any smarter than he is" Phantom commented, noticing the way that 2014 Gwen was just following him like a puppy. "What was wrong with you?"

"I was in love"

"Okay, that's enough!" Meredith hushed. Everyone's attention turned towards her. "We need to knock them out"

"I can knock out the sappy princess" Phantom said. Gwen let out a sarcastic laugh, a little louder than she anticipated. Peter couldn't hear it thanks to the music in his ears, but 2014 Gwen heard it. She looked in the direction of the sound. She carefully began to approaching their hiding spot. They didn't see that she was approaching them.

"Do you really think I'm stupid enough to let you do that? If anyone is knocking me out, it's gonna be me"

"Who's there? I can hear you!" Gwen was startled when she heard her own voice from behind her. 2023 Gwen turned around to see 2014 Gwen behind her. Her hand was glowing, indicating she was ready to use an energy bolt. "Who the hell are you? And why do you look like---" 2014 Gwen didn't get to finish as 2023 Gwen hit her square in the face with the bottom of her energy sword. 2014 Gwen was knocked out cold.

Peter turned around and he could see the unconscious Gwen. "Gwen!" He panicked and then went over to her. Rhodey took the opportunity to hit Peter in the face, knocking him out right beside 2014 Gwen. 2023 Gwen crouched down and rummaged around Peter to find his lockpicking tool.

She purposefully let her touches linger on him. When she started taking too long sizing up his muscles, Rhodey cleared his throat. Gwen quickly stopped and stood back up, blushing in embarrassment. "I was... uh... just looking for this" She held up the tool.

"No, I get it. He's your husband, and it's been a long time" Rhodey smirked at her. Gwen glared at him. Rhodey pointed at the lockpick. "What is that thing anyways?"

"The tool of a thief" Nebula answered. They walked over to a door, behind which, the orb containing the Power Stone was in. Gwen used the lockpick, and the door opened. She was about to step inside but Rhodey stopped her.
