Gwen and Thor moved out to the balcony, each with a drink in hand. Thor's eyes were glued on Gwen while she just looked forward, in the direction of the lit up city. People who were unable to come to the castle to celebrate Meredith's and Carol's engagement opted to celebrate in their own homes.

Gwen wasn't saying a word as she sipped from her glass of the brightly coloured liquor. Thor could tell she was upset about something. And he knew exactly what it was. He had been watching Gwen and Peter all night. He saw how she would try to talk to him, and how he would just push her away and ignore her.

"I can't help feel like it's my fault for you and Quail having a quarrel" Thor spoke.

Gwen's grip on her glass tightened. "It's not your fault" She didn't even glance in Thor's direction as she spoke to him. "I blame Thanos for everything. If he hadn't got all the stones and snapped his fingers, none of this would have happened. Peter wouldn't have dusted. I'd still be married to him. He would've been able to raise his son"

Thor didn't know what else to do except for placing a hand upon her shoulder. Gwen found comfort from feeling his warm hand on her bare skin. "I try to talk to him, but he won't even give me a chance to explain"

"It'll take some time, Gwen" Thor tried to ease her. "We've all been through a lot. He'll come around eventually. You know he still loves you, right?"

Gwen scoffed at that. "It doesn't seem like he does"

"But he does" Thor tried. As much as he loved Gwen, he knew that Peter loved her more, and Gwen still loved him too. It was time for him to let her go, and he would do anything he can to help them get back together.

Gwen turned her head so she was looking at Thor. His hand was still on her shoulder. She smiled up at him, placing her own hand over his. "At least you still love me, right?"

Thor smiled. "Of course, I do" When Gwen started leaning in for a kiss, Thor pushed her away and took a step back. "No, we can't anymore"

Gwen gave him an angry look. "Now you're rejecting me?"

"Gwen, you know we can't"

"But we're married!"

"It's time we divorced so you and Peter can be together again"

"But he doesn't want me anymore!" Gwen argued. She was on the brink of tears. She just wanted someone to love her. First, Peter was angry with her and refusing to even talk to her. Now, even Thor was pushing her away. "Please," Gwen said softly, wrapping her arms around Thor's neck. She nuzzled into his neck. She pressed small kisses against his skin. Thor let out a sigh and his eyes fluttered closed. "Just one kiss" Gwen's voice tempting, but Thor's willpower was stronger.

"No!" His voice boomed as he shoved her away, harder than he intended to. Gwen looked at him in shock. "We can't do this anymore, Gwen!"

Tears started swelling in Gwen's eyes. "I thought you loved me, Thor, but I guess I was wrong" She pushed past him and retreated back inside to the castle. But it wasn't to rejoin the celebration. It was to go cry in her room.

What Thor wanted more than anything was to hold Gwen in his arms, kiss her hard, and tell her that he loves her. But he knew that he wasn't the one for her. And he was ready to accept that.

Peter had watched them leave together. The sight of Gwen and Thor together left a sour taste in his mouth. He knew from the very moment he met him that he couldn't trust Thor. Especially with the way he made googly eyes at his wife. Thor just couldn't resist taking advantage of the fact that Peter had been dusted away, swooping in and seducing Gwen.
