I Need A Hero Vol. 4 {Peter Quill}

Gwen, Peter, Meredith, and Carol were all making their way back to the ship, when they were stopped by Scott.

"Leaving so soon?" he asked.

"Yeah. There's some business we have to take care of before we head back to Kosmo" Gwen explained. She then noticed Peter was just staring at Scott awkwardly with a small smile. "Oh, Scott. This is Peter. I've told you about him, remember?"

"Right. Nice to meet you Peter"

"You too, Scott"

"And I don't know if you've met Meredith's fiancé, Carol Danvers" Gwen introduced.

Scott shook his head. "Not officially, no. But I've seen you in the battlefield. When both of you came crashing through Thanos' warship? That was awesome"

"You're awesome too, Uncle Scott" Meredith commented. "I mean being able to grow 50 feet? How is that not awesome?"

Scott looked shocked at what Meredith just called him but he smiled nonetheless. "Did you just call me Uncle Scott?"

Meredith blushed in embarrassment. "Oh, I'm sorry. It's just that you and mom have become close friends so I thought..."

"No, it's okay. I'm honored to be Uncle Scott"

"Could I call you Uncle Scott too?" Carol joked. "I am gonna become family in a few days" She looked at Meredith with a loving gaze as she wrapped an arm around her waist.

"I mean, yeah, if you want too"

"Hey Scott," Gwen spoke up, causing him to look in her direction. "That invitation to visit Kosmo still stands. You and your family are welcome"

Scott's eyes lit up in excitement. "I would love to! I mean, I have to talk about it with Hope, Hank, Janet, and Cassie, but I'm sure they would be cool with it"

"Whenever you do decide that you want to visit," Gwen reached into her pocket and reached out a small device. She gave it to Scott. "Rocket said it's a new type of communicator he's been working on for the past five years. He made quite a bit of them, and he gave some to me to give to our new friends. You included"

"Wow, this is awesome" Scott remarked. He inspected the device closely. He noticed that there were three labeled buttons: voice, hologram, and teleport. "What does teleport do and where would it teleport me?"

"Pressing the teleport button will take you and whomever is in close range with you to the Benatar. So wherever we may be, whether on Kosmo, or travelling the galaxy, it will take you to right to us"

"But please don't just randomly pop in" Peter quickly added. "I mean, surprise visits every once in a while would be okay, but please call first most of the time"

"I'm guessing that's what the voice and hologram buttons are for?" Scott worked out.

"Yes" Gwen confirmed. "The voice button will let you voice call with one of us, and the hologram button will let it be a holographic call"

A few more words were exchanged between the five of them before parting ways. Meredith and Carol walked ahead of Gwen and Peter. A quiet voice stopped the two of them.

"Mr. and Mrs.Quill?" The two of them turned around to see Peter Parker behind them. His cheeks were stained with fresh tears, and his eyes were red and puffy. Gwen could tell just how heartbroken the poor kid was over his mentor's death. She impulsively pulled him into a hug. "I miss him so much, Mrs.Quill"

"I know, sweetheart. I do too. He became a very good friend of mine over the past five years"

"Will I see you or Mr. Quill again?"
