Midoriya hastily tried to push himself off the window and (surprisingly) succeeded. He racked his brain for a plan to stop the panic. If he could tell everyone at once that it was just the press, and not some super villain, that might work. However, how could he get his voice to reach over all this noise?... If he drew their attention to something else, though, then maybe...
In the sea of students, he quickly realised that it would be too dangerous for him to take out his flaming wings - if he still could, anyway. He hadn't tried since realising they wouldn't come out yesterday, and he had yet to try.
He looked back out of the window, not really knowing what to do, when a glimpse of blue caught his eye.
" Iida!" Midoriya called. Said boy was trying to move across the window towards the exit, and he didn't seem as panicked. He must have seen the news people then. Good.
Iida looked up at him. " Midoriya! The media-"
" Yes, I know," Midoriya rushed out, nearly shouting to get over the background yells. " We need a way to alert everyone though. No-one's noticed and I doubt they will until a while. I can't activate my wings in this tight of a space and I doubt your engines will be of use either in this situation-- n-no offense! Any ideas?"
Iida shook his head as best he could as he was pushed and shoved, " None taken. And you are quite correct, Midoriya, though I do not have an idea of what to help in this situation."
" I have a hint, I guess," Midoriya's gaze steeled in determination. " If we create enough of a scene or distraction, maybe it'll surprise or shock everyone a tad enough to quiet down slightly. We'd have to be in their view though..."
Iida frowned in thought and grunted when someone's shoulder was pushed into his cheek roughly. His eyes wandered upwards slightly and widened. He grinned. " I have an idea! The ledge over that door - if I could get to there I'd be in everyone's view. How to get up is another problem, though..."
Midoriya, as he was squashed between three people, couldn't turn to see that ledge, but he trusted Iida's judgement of it. " Alright, that's great. If the problem is just a matter of getting up there, though..."
His mind raced as he calculated and thought of any possibilities that could get either one of them up there. All of them lead to a dead end, until--
Uraraka .
He had seen her eating with Iida, so she shouldn't be too far away if they had come into this student trampede together. Her quirk could lift Iida up and he could use his engines to go the remaining distance.
" Find Uraraka!" he yelped as he nearly fell and got trampled. " Her quirk!"
Iida nodded once and scanned the sea of panicking students, eyes soon fixing on something - probably someone , but they were out of Midoriya's view.
" Uraraka!" Iida called, stretching out his hand. " Make me float, Uraraka!"
A brief light of pink came from just outside his gaze and Iida floated upwards. Catching Midoriya's eye, he nodded slightly and activated his quirk, making him summersault in the air but effectively rocket to where Midoriya assumed the ledge was.
The crowd of students stopped pushing, letting Midoriya relax and breathe without an elbow being shoved into his stomach every two seconds.
Iida's loud and level voice carried out and filled the hall, successfully informing everyone that there was no danger; that it was only the media. They visibly relaxed at that.
Someone nearby the windows called out, " Hey, look, the police are here!"
" Oh, good!" another said.
