( POV: FALLON CROW )
I turn around in the comfortable, warm bed. My muscles hurt from all the physical training I've put myself through this last week. I did it for distraction but it hardly worked.
My arm reaches to wrap around the warm figure who's usually laying beside but I'm only met with the cold mattress.
My head pops up and I'm instantly filled with anxiety when I can't see him.
"Don't panic, I'm here. Just couldn't sleep."
I rub my eyes, trying to get rid of my weariness. A flicker of light enters the otherwise dark room, the moonlight shines on him and I can see his faint silhouette.
"Are you okay?"
I can hear him get up from his seat at the table as he moves towards me. I feel him creep up and then his hands are on my face, "oh, don't, I probably have m-"
Morning breath is what I wanted to say but he doesn't care as he softly kisses me.
"I feel much better now," he says after pecking my lips again. "And no you dont. You never do."
"You could've woken me up, is something wrong?"
"No," he sighs, letting his head drop on my chest as he pulls me down to lay with him. "Maybe." He whispers after a few seconds of silence.
I play with his soft curls, they still feel a bit damp from the bath he had before we went to bed. That means it's still nighttime. We're not even close to the sunrise.
"I am worried, I think I finally understand that feeling you've been having."
"Maybe we're just stressing about the wedding? I mean the camera's being here and all. Actually, they'll be here to set up in a few hours and I can already hear heels clatter against the tiles. Listen,"
We're both as quiet as one can be, he's not even breathing.
And then we hear the clicks against the floor. It's not loud but it's there. He groans and turns his head even further into me.
"If I had known that marrying me would annoy you this much, I wouldn't have said yes. Though, I suppose you didn't ask it the way one should and I didn't agree too eagerly."
I hear him chuckle but that's the only response I'm getting.
"Ready to go to sleep again?" I ask him softly but he doesn't reply. I look down at him and he's already fast asleep. Seems like playing with his hair still works to calm his nerves.
I pull the blanket back over us but he's kind of already acting like my blanket, his entire body on top of mine. It's oddly satisfying. I can't quite breathe but who needs air anyway when there's a handsome king on top of you, am I right?
