I sat next to my sister, Luella, on a hot sunny day, enjoying the little breezes that passed now and then. The two of us waited for our friends to arrive but they had yet to show. After what felt like hours I decided to do the fun things we had planned, not letting the disappointment stop me from having a good day.
We started off going to an aquarium but only seeing half the exhibits since we planned on catching a movie. The movie was great but after sitting in the dark for so long we took a walk through the city and did some window shopping, which turned into Luella blowing through her money carelessly. I wanted to as well, but since I was the oldest I had a responsibility to take care of both of us. We finished off the day eating at a new restaurant that turned out subpar in her opinion, but I enjoyed it. By the time we finished eating, it was dark so rather than staying out, I insisted that we head home.
"Hey, can you hold some of my bags?" I looked back at Luella and saw that she was struggling to keep hold of her new things.
"Hmm, no because I told you not to get so much." Was it wrong, yes, but she knew we would be walking. Not happy with my answer she yells about me being inconsiderate and her bags began to fall on the ground. As I was walking over to help her I saw a raven grey creature with a white mask covering its face. It was approaching her quickly but I pushed her out the way causing her to topple over. My arm was bleeding from the hollows attack but I ignored it and held out my hand. My sword materialized and I gripped the hilt. Without a thought, I sliced the hollow in half and it vanished from my sight.
"Your arm, are you okay?" Luella asked with tearful eyes, remaining on the ground. Given the fact that she was experienced like me, and aware of hollows, I figured she was shaken up from nearly dying.
"That was nothing, compared to all the other things we've gone through," I answered, going to pick up her clothing. "It could've been worse."
"How were you able to do that?" We turned to see our friend Ichigo dressed in black clothing, running with a zanpakutō larger than himself. Not too far behind, Orihime followed in her school uniform.
"It became easier after long hours of training," I looked over at him confused as to how he got his weapon.
"You're bleeding, let me help you." Orihime offered. "We can sort this out elsewhere."
