"Shinji, can you give me some details about the mission that you volunteered me for?" I asked, walking up to his desk. He wasn't doing anything at the moment, only eating his baked cheesecake kit kats that I gifted him a week ago. He finished eating the current one, clearing his throat after it was swallowed.

"Let's not get too casual, it's Captain or Captain Hirako." He opened up a file that came from Captain Kuchiki's division, Rukia, not Byakuya. "While looking over the world of the living like they normally do, the thirteenth division discovered more strange activities. This was planned before the altercation with Kirā, I figured you would like a mission of your own because at the time you were only doing paperwork and running errands." The fact that he was thinking of me and seeing that I was tired of the mundane schedule and decided to give me something different was nice. "I figured you would like the action since you did want to be in Zaraki's squad."

"That and I'll be getting paid," I added jokingly but also serious. "What is it that I'll be doing?"

"We need you to search the area of Karakura town since supernatural things have been occurring."

"Like what?"

"Lately things like signs, cars, rails, anything metal have been murdering people."

"How do you guys know it's another attack on the world of the living and not just freak accidents?" I asked, it sounded normal so far.

"Look at this." He hands me photos of the scenes and it becomes obvious that their suspicions would be confirmed. The way the metal pierced its victims was unusual. It was like the metal changed shape and direction before slaying them.

"Go off now and don't let Kurosaki get involved."

"Yes, Captain." I placed the photos on the desk and headed off towards the gate.

I arrived at the exit seeing Hinamori talking with Captain Hitsugaya while my sister, Luella, stood beside them.

"Where are you guys headed off too?" I interrupted their conversation, pulling their attention.

"Momo will be traveling with you during this mission and it's important that you look out for one another." Captain Hitsugaya answered with his eyes closed for some reason I don't understand.

"I was under the impression that it was just me, then again it does make sense to send us out in pairs." I said while inwardly cursing.

"It was originally her mission but she wanted you to come along in case she ran into the person responsible for the damage." He explained.

"Well, thanks for the invitation Hinamori. We should get going."

"Remember that she will be the one giving the orders." He pointed out before the two of us left.

"As long as she doesn't abuse her power, I don't mind." The gates were opened and we headed out into the world of the living in search of the person responsible for the tragedies.
