"Let me start by saying, no matter what the history is between the two of you or what the story is, they will analyze you for disrespecting your captain."

"I don't care, I meant every word I said." I balled my fist tightly and tears rolled down my face. It was hard containing all my frustration and anger.

"Huh? Are you crying? I was just kidding, captains can only discipline the people within their squad." He assured me.

"I'm not scared of any discipline, I'm just angry because this story happened many times before and it's still ending the same." I sat in front of my desk and dropped my head on the surface.

"Which way is that?"

"Horribly for me because she tarnished my name over a man I don't even think I can love anymore." I cried into my arms and he rubbed my back not knowing what else he could do.

"Not everyone believes her, you'll always have me in your corner." He said. "Anyone I sent you to work with believes you're a great person. My visor squad can vouch for you too since you managed to grow on us and become like family. We know what kind of person you are."

"She's been doing this for a month and it's mentally draining," I said. "I appreciate your support but I can't go on like this."

"What do you mean for a month?" Hirako asked, tilting his head. "You only worked with her for three days."

"Ever since I first went she's been threatening to tell you that I was acting out of line and have me demoted," I explained with my head still on the desk. "I needed to keep my title because losing it would further my humiliation."

"You could've come to me if you needed help, even though she's a captain she is not allowed to harass you." Hirako informed me, kneeling to my side. "Don't worry, I'll take care of this."

"Honestly, I'd rather kill her. At this point, the damage is already done. Things will be better once she's out of my life for good." Hirako tilted his head once again, waiting for me to say I was joking or at least laugh so that he'd know I wasn't serious.

"If you did that I wouldn't be able to protect you from whatever punishment they give you because you can't kill a captain." He warned me.

"Then I'll request a trial by combat." I wiped my face and sat up in my chair.

"I love that you are confident in your skill, but I think you should wait until after you've slept on it. Once you declare it in front of everyone and the words out, there's no turning back."

"I understand, it's been on my mind for a while."

"Huh, if this is what you want then I'll support you, but promise me you'll sleep over it before declaring the trial."

"I promise."

"You can take the rest of the day off to clear your head."

"Thanks, captain." I leave the office and Hirako is left alone. His face darkened as he thought of ways he could bring Captain Kuchiki to justice, after all, even if I lost he was going to make sure everyone knew of the horrible things she's done.
