After battling the captains, Luella and I became part of the Gotei 13. It wasn't easy though, we both had to take classes on using kidō since we only knew a handful. The process of learning how to use the spells was frustrating, but in the end, it was worthwhile. I was placed in the fifth division as a third set officer because Captain Hirako Shinji believed it made sense for me to join his squad. I was hoping to be put in the eleventh with Captain Zaraki, but I was appreciative. Luella was elated to be placed in the tenth division that was led by Captain Hitsugaya since she and Rangiku were now friends.
For the first time in our life, Luella and I were no longer going to be living together because we were on different teams and placed in different barracks. I was concerned because I was used to taking care of her, but she was an adult, only twenty, but still an adult. It was hard to think of her living alone but she was going to leave sooner or later, so I came to terms with it, making sure to visit her every week to make sure she was alright.
"Done," I said cheerfully as I placed the last Pac-Man sticker above my bed. "Just because I get older, that doesn't mean I have to stop loving things from my past." I stepped back and admired all my hard work.
"I agree, the room looks nice." I turned to see Renji leaning against the door frame. That's not weird at all.
"What brings you here?" I asked curiously.
"Rangiku wanted me to let you know that tonight she wants you to join her and your sister at squad ten."
"Why? Am I going to be sent out to patrol?" I didn't want to head out and start working. I wasn't lazy, but I was used to having a flexible schedule, and here they sent people to work daily like they didn't believe in breaks.
"No, she's throwing a small party."
"Will you be there?" I was going to go whether he went or not, I just wanted to know if I'd see him around.
"I have paperwork and afterward I'm going to be training with Ikkaku."
"Bummer, I thought I'd be spending more time with you after the fight with Captain Zaraki." I confessed. A light pink shade started to settle on his face, but before it could build, Renji scrambled out of the door.
Before I headed to the party, I went to my sister's home to ask a few questions. She was seated at the desk in her room reading a book. Even though she had less furniture, the room looked incredible.
"Why did you choose Marvel as your theme?" I asked only to receive a harsh glare.
"One, she's from DC. Two, it's what I wanted. Three, it looks great." She closed her book and turned in her chair to face me. "What do you want?"
"I need to know what kind of party you and Rangiku are having." I wanted to be prepared so I wasn't taken by surprise by any activity. "Are there any drinking games? Is she going to ask me, truth or dare? Will I have seven minutes in heaven?"
"She only wants to know you better. She's sure that the two of you have more in common since you're both older." She assured me. "It's not going to be some crazy, out-of-control party that ends with regrets. The music isn't going to be loud because of the nearby work areas. There will be food, but if I was you I wouldn't eat any."
"Why not?" I asked, crossing my arms. It was rude to talk about other people's food.
"Rangiku isn't the best cook." She shuddered thinking of the last time she ate one of Rangiku's creations. "Seriously, don't eat it."

We arrived at the party and I was pleased. It was like a casual yet formal atmosphere. Music played in the background softly while people chatted with one another, some people were seated others were standing. There were dark green tables that had mountains of food set upon them. From the looks of it, people enjoyed the appetizers.
"I thought people hated her food." I glanced at Luella who was confused by their delight.
"Shūhei, " She called, pulling the dark-haired man wearing a choker. "Did Rangiku make any of this?"
"No, Izuru and a few others made it. They figured the party would be more enjoyable with edible food."
"Funny, Izuru would help with the party, but he's too shy to participate." The both of them laughed at the irony. I stood beside them feeling awkward since I had no clue as to who they were talking about.
"Surprise!" I found myself trapped in a suffocating hug. "I figured a party would be a great way for you to meet everyone." Rangiku released me, only to pull me to where she and a few of her friends were seated.
"You didn't have to."
"Of course I did. If I didn't I would be stuck doing paperwork all night." Rangiku poured sake and handed me the cup. "Have a drink."
"I don't think I should, isn't Sake strong?" I figured it would be since she's always passed out after drinking it.
"It isn't, you just have to be careful of how much you drink." She said, I wasn't sure if she was telling the truth or not but she made it easy for me to indulge in the activity.
I spent the majority of my time drinking and laughing with Rangiku, Shūhei, and Ikkaku. It was weird because I thought he and Renji were training, but he said they finished early. As time went on our conversation became more random and we found ourselves laughing over the smallest things. Maybe coming out tonight was a great idea.

I groaned in pain feeling my head throb. "Why do I always fall for this?" I asked myself. I turned and ended up bumping into someone. Oh my fuck! I quickly pulled the covers in an attempt to cover my body, but I realized I was still dressed in the clothes from last night. Huh? I poked at Rangiku's cheek to wake her up. She hummed, shoving my hand away from her face and sitting up, her robe sliding off her shoulders.
"What happened, how did I end up here?" I believed this was her home since it obviously wasn't mine. "Can I have a glass of water please, my head is pounding?" I asked, the pain repeating itself so I wouldn't forget it.
"I brought you here because you passed out." She answered. "After you and Ikkaku we're done making out." My eyes widened in horror. I wasn't turned off by him or anything. It was the fact that I wouldn't have done that, had I been sober. "That's not even the worst part." She continued. "The whole time you thought he was Renji." My face felt hot and my eyes seemed to be glued open. What have we done? How did I mistake the two when they were obviously different?
"No, no, no, I refuse to believe this." I get out of her bed and head home to clean myself up. This was the last time I would drink so much. I felt regret, trying to think back on the situation I could hardly recall. Were we just making out in front of the others? Did we end up making people uncomfortable? Was my captain attending that party? I turn on the shower and let the water wash over me as I try and pretend it didn't happen. Hopefully, nothing bad comes from this.
