"We are about to land." Samantha announced in her professional tone. "Please take your seats and buckle your seatbelts."
We landed smoothly at Oxford airport at a little past of eleven. Because it was only used for domestic flights, the airport area was not very vast like Heathrow. The runaway also ended way too quickly after our jet touched the ground. The way our pilot Adrian managed in that amount of space it proved how experienced and skilled he was. Other than our jet there were two more jets nesting in the termac.
I switched my phone from airplane mode to normal mode and got ready to get off. Samantha was standing at the door.
"Have a nice trip." She smiled at us amiably.
"Thanks." I smiled back. Ron was talking to the pilot. He already changed in a pair of formal dark blue suits. His look changed from casual to business look.
"Thanks for your service." Ron reached out his hand to Adrian.
"You are most welcome," Adrian said politely as he shook Ron's hand. "See you tonight."
I took a deep breath when I stepped out of the jet. The air felt fresh nitrous and a little warmer than London's weather. There's a sweet fragrance in the air.
The security wasn't too tight and within a few minutes we were done with our check out.
There were two jumbo road rovers waiting for us at the gate. Those people who were waiting for us with the car handed over the key to Ryder. Ryder handed over one key to James and gave a quick scan to the car. James copied Ryder and gave the same examination to the other car.
"Sir," Ryder opened the door for us in his usual polite way.
"After you." Ron signed me to enter first. I took off my backpack and climbed in. Ron entered after me and Ryder closed the door behind us. Ian got on the driver's seat and Ryder took the shotgun seat. My friends got in the other car with James.
After everyone settled down comfortably Ian started the engine and we were on our way.
Anna wanted to pick us up from the airport, but I stopped her. It was a big day for her. She needed a lot to prepare and she should focus on her farm's reopening. Her farm was only fifteen away from the airport and the GPS was showing a simple route to drive. So it wouldn't be a problem.
I looked out from the window and started to take in those picturesque views surrounding us.
"How far is Oxford University from here?" I asked Ron. He was typing something very attentively in his MacBook. He looked up at me. He squinted his eyes and did the math in his head.
"More or less one hour drive from here."
"More OR less?"
"A little more." He smirked. "Do you want to visit?"
"Not today." I looked out again. "But I'd like to another day."
"Can I be included in that plan?" He smiled teasingly. I looked at him.
"I made that plan while thinking of both of us." His eyes widened a little with surprise and...happiness. I quickly looked out to hide my baked cheeks. He scooted a little towards me.
"Can I get a kiss?"
"Don't push your luck!" I glared at him with fake anger. He chuckled and leaned back just beside me. He picked up his MacBook and started working again, but that time he was using one of his hands to hold mine.
