My body instantly tried to get away from him by reflex. But couldn't. He was quicker by his reflex and gripped me more tightly than before.

"Don't spoil the mood." His snicker irked my anger. "Can't you see everyone is dancing so peacefully."

"Let. Me. Go." I chewed out venom as I was tugging my hand hard from his. We were silently in a tug of war game. I looked for Ron around the room. I found him busy talking with someone else.

"Fine." He suddenly used some extra force and pulled me towards him. I gasped at his sudden attack. But before I could do anything he leaned a little and whispered in my ears. "See you later, Mona Lisa." He let me go and got out from the dance floor. I stood in the middle of the dance floor like a dumbfounded idiot. I was brought back from my daze when someone lightly tapped on my shoulder. I snapped my head and found Ron behind me.

"There you are." His smile faded when he noticed my pale face. "What's wrong?!"

"Rupert!" I whispered. Ron's jaw instantly tightened.

"What about him?"

"He is here." I looked around frantically. "He just had a dance with me."

Ron also looked around then sighed deeply with a stoic face. He looked back at me with warmness in his eyes.

"You don't have to think about him." He rubbed my arm gently. "I'll take care of everything."

I placed my hand on my forehead. All my blood went up to my brain and made me feverish.

"Let's get out of here." He held my hand tightly and gently pulled me while looking around.

I nodded my head in a daze and followed him.

"Rupert wilson bailed out after twenty days of his arrest. He gave his part of the statement to request the bail and it went through between those laws unnoticed, so the judge had no choice but had to pass his appeal."

"And what did he exactly say in his statement?" Ron leaned off from his chair and pressed his index finger on the table.

We managed to get out of the party, we rode a speed board to reach the shore. As soon as we reached our hotel room Ron called Jass to find out about Rupert. We were talking through a zoom meeting.

"He said to the judge that that was just a simple misunderstanding between him and mr. Ryan. He was just there to meet mr. Ryan. Mrs. Ryan was alone at that moment. She suddenly threw herself on him so he had no choice but to defend himself. In Between mr. Ryan walked in, misunderstood him and beat him up."

"I should have killed him." Ron clenched his fist so hard that his knuckles turned white. I placed my hand over him to calm him down. He sighed and leaned back on his headrest.

"But why did the judge still believe in him?" I asked while rubbing lightly on Ron's shoulder. "I mean, we gave them the security footage, right?"

"Unfortunately they can't hear your conversation. So, mr. Wilson made out a story out of it for his own benefit."

"Wow, I can't believe him." I raised my brows in disbelief. I actually laughed because I was beyond being angry.

"Okay, listen," Ron shook his head as if he was trying to shake away all those negative thoughts he was having right that moment, "I want you to find out what he is doing here and how long. Do you understand what I am saying?"
