It was still unknown to everyone what method Rupert and President Xue used to get through to the higher ups of HJ financial group. But right before the signing ceremony, HJ financial group is delaying the time and refusing to sign the guarantor agreement with Rupert. If the guarantor agreement can't be signed, then the funding can't be withdrawn from any bank. And if Rupert can't make the payment on Monday, that contract, Rupert was excading about can't be signed.
"How did you do it?" I looked at Ron in disbelief after hearing everything.
"I didn't do anything." Ron gave me an innocent look. I gave him back a deadpan expression.
"Was that too obvious?" Ron smiled like a child who got caught while stealing candies.
"Very." I wiggled my brows. Ron laughed. "How did you even manage to make the other company step back. I heard they were some yakuza, gangsters or something like that." I paused a little then turned to him abruptly with wide eyes. "Don't tell me, you made a deal with them?!" I grasped his hand tightly. "Please tell me you didn't do anything stupid like I am thinking."
Ron lightly slapped my hand. "No dummy."
"Then what did you do?" I stomped my feet on the car floor impatiently. "Ahh, just tell me already."

"Every company has a frenemy company. So does HJ group. For years they have been arch enemies with a medical company named JK group. In these past two years, HJ group had been competing with JK group at great lengths. There is nobody in Korea who doesn't know about this. Because their fight is very entertaining for everyone in the business world. I also used to keep tabs on their fights. Last year, JK group won over 6 billion USD dollar of HJ group's contracts. This year, HJ must make a comeback, otherwise they will forever stay behind the JK group." Ron Smirked with a calm expression on his face. "So I bought a thirty five percent share of JK group and became the major shareholder. After that I offered a friendly merger with the HJ group."
"But why did they accept your offer in the first place?"
"Isn't it obvious?!" Ron squinted his eyes at me with a little confusion. "I mean they are wise enough to choose my friendly offer rather than staying with Rupert. His company is already suffering a big blow from me. Everyone already knows it would be a big risk to make anything together with them. HJ Group is a state-owned enterprise. To guarantee a loan of such a large amount to Rupert is already giving him high esteem. However, it still seems that he can't beat me. I was only waiting for this right moment, for Rupert to have it all planned out, then let him taste defeat at the last minute."
"Don't make him hate you so much." I laughed a little. I hate Rupert too. But after seeing how Ron ruthlessly smashed his every effort even I felt a little bad for him.
Ron took a deep breath and then slowly exhaled, his voice shook slightly. "I will destroy him to the point where he can't look up at you anymore."
My heart seemed to stop beating for a moment after seeing that dead serious look on his face. We stared at each other for a few seconds. Everything around us seemed invisible as we absorbed each other into each other's eyes. I sighed deeply and reached my hand for his.

"Ron, you did enough. Yes, I am saying that it is enough. I don't want you to make counterattacks on him. Rupert is lowering himself and I don't want you to chase him there. He will reap what he saw. I am afraid you will drown with him at this rate."
Ron smiled stiffly. "LIza, you probably don't know, but in this business world even though we appear as a white collar worker in front of the people, underneath the white collar we are actually hiding our red collars." My heart sank after hearing his answer. I didn't understand what he said, but I was certain it didn't have a nice meaning.
"What does that mean?" My throat felt dry.
Ron's hand slowly clenched into a fist. He lightly laughed. "Liza, you don't have to worry about anything. The HJ group may have connections with some dark matters, but they also have good business sense in business. I have already thought of all the future risks that may arise in any investment projects with them. If this project becomes successful, it also shows that my investment is completely worthy and successful. No matter how I look at this, it is still beneficial to me. No matter how you put it, isn't this a business collaboration?"
I sighed and took a few minutes before answering him. "Ron, if you insist on saying it like that, I won't say anything anymore. What you are thinking in your heart, I won't dispute.
