(Don't forget to hear the song)

We stared at each other for a few seconds. I inhaled deeply.

"He is just a co-worker." I didn't leave my ground. If he wanted to work things out he should step back a little. He needed to learn that a relationship wouldn't work with control. At least not with me. "You can't just dig up on everyone around me who says hello to me."

"It's not like that. I just want to make sure that he is not a...."

"Please don't." I cut him off. "Let me find out for myself how exactly he is. Give me some space to breathe. please?"

Ron slowly looked down at his shoes and slid his hands in his pockets. Then he slowly looked up and smiled at me affectionately.

"Fine." He sighed deeply with a melancholy smile on his face. "I really want to work out everything between us. I don't want to mess up the second chance I got from you." He looked the way Juane went. "Whenever I see someone with you I keep remembering about the incident with Rupert and..." he couldn't finish the line when he saw my face become pale. "I made a grave mistake that time by not noticing his intentions. So, I just wanted to..."

"It wasn't your fault," I said softly. It made my heart ache to think that he blamed himself for that.

"Everything happened because I didn't pay much attention to myself." His jaw tightened as the blue veins on his neck popped up. "Hah! Just remembering that incident makes me realize every time how nugatory everything I have achieved till now ."

"Hey, snap it now." I ran my fingers through my hair. He looked miserable. And so I am. Just remembering that ghastly memory which I thought I wiped off from my memory became vivid and caused goosebumps all over my entire body. I took some deep long breaths and calmed myself down. Ron came closer and hugged me so tightly that my shattered heart stuck back together. I hugged him back with my trembling hands.

"Sorry," he murmured softly and kissed my hair. We stayed like that until both our hearts started to beat at their normal speed.

"Let's eat," he finally said while still hugging me tightly. "I am hungry."

"I already ate," I murmured softly against his chest.

"With that guy?" He asked grumpily. I laughed a little and hit his chest lightly.

"Don't be so stingy." I leaned off a little without breaking our hug. "I will cook for you tonight."

"You will?" He grinned.

"Uh-huh." I nodded. "Let's stop by the convenience store before we go home." I smiled slyly. "And we can have dessert together. I want strawberry chocolate tiramisu."

"I know a perfect shop for that." He smiled warmly.

We first stopped by Sainsbury's for groceries then Pompi for it's famous tiramisu. I peeked inside that dark red box a few times while sitting inside the car. I just couldn't wait to taste them. Ron chuckled indulgently while noticing my actions.

"You can eat them if you can't really wait."

"Who said I can't wait." I quickly placed the package on the space beside my seat and leaned back a little. "I am not five years old."

Ron brushed his fingers on the backside of my palm and then slowly interlocked them with mine. "I am very well aware of that fact." He stared into my eyes while scraping the tip of his middle finger on my ring finger. His movements were so slow that it incited a flame inside of me.
