It took me a few seconds to retrieve myself from my frozen state. I quickly went to Juane.

"Juane, are you alright?"

He was in so much pain that he couldn't make out a word. He just shook his head.

"Please we need help here! Somebody is injured!" I shouted in hope to get some help while I was trying to push off those piles of boxes from his leg but those boxes were so heavy that I couldn't even make them bulge. So I tried another way. I used my leg to push myself from the wall and moved those boxes a little with my back. Other workers quickly came after hearing my yell for help and gave me a hand to move those boxes.

As soon as the boxes were moved Juane gripped his ankle and growled in pain.

"Arrgghhh!!!"

"Does it hurt too much?" I placed my hand on his back to give him some comfort.

"¡Me duele como el infierno!" He answered between his clenched teeth. I had no idea what he said but I was sure he was definitely not saying that he was fine. I took out my phone without wasting any more moments.

"I am calling the emergency, all right?" I taught a little then decided to call 111.

"Hello 111, what's your emergency?"

The operator lady asked me a few questions then told me to wait for the ambulance.

I put my phone in the pocket and gave my attention to Juane.

"Hnnngghh!!" He was still wriggling on the floor in discomfort while grasping his right ankle tightly. I was feeling frustrated and uneasy as a guilt feeling eating me out from inside.

It was all my fault. I should've paid more attention to my work. Because of me Juane was in that state.

"Should we give him something to reduce the pain?" Suzane, one of our coworkers, asked concernedly when she couldn't stand the sight of a grown man crying in pain.

"What should we give?" I asked hopefully. Seeing Juane in that condition made my heart ache.

"No, we can't," Larry, another coworker answered. "We have no idea about his medical history. It could make things worse for him." My inner hope died.

"At the very least we can apply some ice on it." Tim, another coworker suggested as he got up and went to those fish boxes. He opened a box and took out a fistful of snow from it and pressed it on Juane's swollen ankle.

"Arrgghh!" Juane shrieked like a slaughtered animal in pain.

"Gently." Larry instructed Tim in a scolding tone. "Don't press too hard."

Before the ice melted the ambulance reached us.

"Does anyone like to go with him?" One of those paramedics asked after they put Juane inside the ambulance.

"I will go with him." I promptly answered and stepped forward to climb into the vehicle. Inside the vehicle the other paramedic was taking care of Juane. Juane was still swearing because of the pain. As I seated my phone started to ring. I took out and took a look. It was Ian. I took a deep breath and answered the call.

"Mrs. Ryan what happened? I just saw.."

"Listen to me very carefully, alright?" I cut him off. "When you are going to report Ron, tell him that I am bringing my coworker to the hospital. And this time don't forget to mention that it's my COWORKER!" I emphasize the word 'coworker'. "Do you get me?" I asked him in a commanding tone.
