40. The Healed Photoframe🦋

I didn't know how long I had been running like a mad human being. Ten minutes? Fifteen minutes?I didn't have any sense of direction at that moment at all. I stopped when I was finally out of breath.

"HA...HA...HA...HAAAAA..." I Started to huff like a laboured animal with my mouth wide open, while scrunching my nose. The left side of my chest hurt so much.

Argh....those boobs!!

I gently pressed the pained place, just right below my left boob and looked around. Where was I? Where should I go next?

The Sun is slowly sliding to the east, taking all lights from the world in tow. I tiredly started to walk again, but slowly. I was exhausted physically and mentally. Only if I had my phone with me. I also left my backpack in the car.

Well, forced to.

I searched my pockets and found only ten pounds change, which I left the other day after buying some churros. I could get some food with them.

I was walking aimlessly and suddenly my ears perked up.

A car! I thought I heard the sound of a car engine.

My legs slowly started to speed up and then, I was running.

If there was a car then there should be a road, somewhere there.

After following the direction of the sound for eight minutes I finally reached the road through a thorny blackberry bush. My arms and cheeks all got red stingy scratch marks. But I brushed them all away. I excitedly looked both ways and desperately praying for a car to come.

Please god, please send me a car. Any car. From anyway.

And soon as the answer of my prayer I spotted a car from afar. I gasped in happiness.

I jumped in the middle of the road and started to wave my hand over my head while thanking god with all of my heart.

"Stop! Stop! Please, stop the car!"

That car abruptly stopped in front of me and a man came out hastily from inside. The smiled instantly wiped off from my face.

He was one of Rupert's men.

Without wasting any moment I turned to the side and bolted to the thorny blackberry bush again. My body got more scratches and cuts. But I could care less. Thankfully I covered my eyes.

"What are you waiting for?! Hurry up and catch her!" I could hear Rupert's voice from behind me.

"This bush is too thorny." That man complained.

"Then how the hell did she go through them?" Rupert growled in anger. "Don't be a wuss and hurry up or I will throw you there!"

"Okay, Okay, fine!"

"Hurry up! She is getting away!

"Sheesh! Stop complaining!" That man hissed back. "Why don't you come in then, eh?!"

I winced and my eyes teared up when the corner of my lips got a deep cut with those thrones. I got distracted with their talk. When I went through first I was very cautious about those thrones. But at that moment I didn't have time to be cautious of those throne because there was a bigger problem following behind me.
