Mara wasn't surprised. She knew in some way that Martin Carleton was related to her. It didn't matter how. She just knew. It was an intuition.
"You realize that our brother might be alive, right?" Mara said as Evelyn sat down beside her
"And we'll find him" Evelyn said
"Does anyone know that Martin is a Foxdale?" Mara asked
"No, why?" Evelyn asked as she turned her head towards her sister
"The Coven is desperate. They'd easily use us even if it would result in our deaths. We gotta look out for each other. No one can know about him. We have to be smart about this" Mara said and Evelyn nodded
"Yeah, Okay" she said, Mara could sense the unease radiating from her sister's shoulders
"I'm not gonna rest until he's dead, Ev. Martin is as good as dead" Mara reassured
"I know. This mission is in good hands" Evelyn smiled
"I'm not gonna lie to you anymore, Ev. Someone else knows and they should be helping" Mara said
"Who?" Evelyn asked
"Jason Cassidy" Mara replied and Evelyn nodded
"Okay. But this is top secret, no one else knows" Evelyn said and Mara nodded
"Got it" Mara said
"You're missions will be unsanctioned. If anyone asks, you're just looking for the rogue Omens" Evelyn said and Mara nodded
"Understood" Mara agreed, Evelyn stood up and turned to her
"Make sure that Jason does too" Evelyn advised
"Yeah, I will. Don't worry" Mara reassured and then watched as her sister walked out of the room, closing the door behind her leaving Mara alone
