The night turned stormy as the clouds began to thunder, all that was missing was the lightning. Mya had just walked into a sketchy bar in Brooklynn, clouds of cigarette smoke and cheap beer smell illuminated the air.

Thankfully it was near empty, so she wouldn't have to deal with some asshole guy trying to hit on her or try to pick her up. She had just fought tooth and nail to leave her job and she really wasn't in the mood to be hit on.

"Give me a Disaronno, on the rocks please," she asked the bartender, he nodded his head as he grabbed the golden brown liquid and poured it into glass with ice.

She nodded at him as she took that first sip and let the alcohol hit her as she swallowed it slowly. As she sat there the time seemed to go by faster as patrons walked in and out, for the most part she just kept to herself until she got this overwhelming urge to look at the entrance.

A man came in looking hurt and confused. He made eye contact with Mya, but she quickly looked away. Her stomach felt warm and she felt lightheaded, but it wasn't from the alcohol.

The stranger was very attractive, tall, muscular, dark brown hair in a messy style, and those blue eyes of his sucked the air out of the room.

She continued to baby her drink as she felt the man sit down three stools away from her. She could smell the cologne he had on, strong but subtle. Made her insides melt.

"Can I have a Heineken?'" the man said in a deep raspy voice.  She wondered how he would sound saying her name.

Stop it!

She screamed at herself as she downed the rest of the drink.

"Can I buy you another drink?" Mya's head snapped up as she realized it was some other guy next to her, standing way too close. She could smell the beer on his breath and the stench of his body odor. Mya scrunched up her nose as she shook her head.

"Actually I am fine right now thanks."

"Come on now, don't be all stuck up bitch about it. Let me buy you a drink."

"I said no. Thanks," Mya began to turn away from him but the guy grabbed her shoulder, physically turning her around. Right when he did that, the mystery man stood up.

He grabbed the man's arm and flung him across the room.

"It's okay Bucky! He's just drunk!" the bartender yelled as he pleaded with him, Bucky looked over at a wide-eye Mya.

"Drunk or not, he shouldn't be laying his hands on anyone."

"Thank you," Mya said in a shaky voice. Bucky winked at her as he gave her a half smile. That was the only go ahead Mya had been waiting for.

He was about to turn around and go back to his seat. Mya knew she had to act quickly. Knowing it was a bad idea, she grabbed his hand to stop him. It was cold and made of metal.
