You think with all the stuff Jade does, between acting, dancing, and singing, that she would be a very active person. Wrong, Jade is lazy. In all her free time, the little that she has, she just lays around and talks. Sometimes she takes me to do something with her, like movies, ice cream, or shopping. But mostly, we do nothing.
Correction, right now I am the one doing all the work and she is doing nothing. We are on day five of cleaning out the garage. Jade is sitting on the pool table we have never ever used, it was my dad's. She is flipping through some old baby photos of me and Oli that she found. We have made a huge dent. The mountains are now manageable hills.
"Aw! You look so cute!" She cooed.
"Jade you aren't helping," I say for the 3rd time in a row.
Then I grab another bag full of baby clothes and toss it into the donation pile.
"Guess what," She sets the photo album down.
"You are finally going to start helping?" I try.
"No, Archer and I kissed!" she squeals.
"What!?"
"I know! He totally kissed me today." She sighs romantically.
"When, where? How?" I push.
"We were putting up the props for theater and were in the prop closet. One thing led to another and bam. We kissed! It was everything I always thought it would be." She flutters her eyes.
The old picture frame I was holding in my hands snaps in half from how hard I was bending it.
Jade raises an eyebrow at me.
"Congrats!" I force a smile.
"Thank you! He is so perfect you know..." I block out the rest of her rant about how perfect Archer is.
Jade can be pretty oblivious, especially when she's wrapped up in her own world. I have this theory, that I could declare out loud I am madly in love with her and it wouldn't even phase her. Because she's so busy going on and on about Archer, she probably wouldn't even hear me.
If she wasn't so oblivious, she'd notice how much pain I'm in.
Sometimes Jade's are dumb.
After about another hour or so Jade drops off the donations and I close up the garage. I go inside to shower. We will probably be finished with it in a day or two. We really got a lot done over the weekend.
Often, I have a debate with myself on which would be more painful. Continuing to be Jade's friend forever and never tell her how I feel. Or tell her how I feel and not being friends at all. It's a losing argument. It only gives me a headache and heartache to think about it.
After my shower, I lay on my bed with Cloud and the Countess and call Darleen.
"Hey," She answers.
"Hey."
"So what are you doing?" she asks.
"Just laying down, you?"
"My mom is having a social gathering at our house; I am hiding in my room." She snickers.
"Sounds interesting."
"You okay?"
"Yeah, I am great," I say sarcastically.
"Talk to me."
"You won't like what I have to say."
"Say it anyway."
"You sure?"
"Yes."
"Just forget it, it's about Jade. I'm sure you don't want to hear it."
