Alcohol has never been my strong suit. I can count on one hand the number of times I have put alcohol into my body. I can count using the same amount of fingers to show how drunk I got. I am a lightweight. I was already feeling buzzed just after that one can.

This is why I try and stay far far away from Alcohol.

Don't underage drink kids, bad things happen.

After we ate lunch we all just sat around drinking beer and talking. Then Demarcus and Wini started playing cards with Archer, they laughed loud and made bets with each other. Music played out from a Bluetooth speaker that Archer had brought. Demarcus's playlist of course.

Jade sat silently next to him; she was looking at me while I was looking at her. Darleen mindlessly running her fingers through my hair as I sit in her lap, sipping my second beer, the can is nearly empty. Darleen is still on her first.

"Thank you for sticking up for me," Darleen said low enough to where only I would be able to make out what she said.

"I don't want anyone to hurt you. Even though we aren't together anymore, I still care about you." I said.

"I'm just glad you picked my side for once."

"It's not about sides," I slur. "Jade was being mean, that's our business. No one needs to know about that stuff. She's just trying to get my attention because she knows I'm mad at her."

"Why are you mad at her? I thought you liked it."

"No... Well yes, but no. I don't like that she used me like that. I don't like how she acts like nothing happened like it meant nothing to her. Either she's a really good actor, or she really sees me as nothing. I hate it." I whimpered.

Jade finally averted her eyes from my own.

"I would never treat you like that." Darleen rubbed her hand up and down my arm soothingly, while her other hand ran through my hair softly.

"Stop it."

"Hmm?"

"Stop being so perfect. Let me be miserable, I deserve it." I pouted.

"The only thing you deserve is to be loved," She kissed the top of my head.

I curled up into her and let her cradle me. I rested my head on her chest.

"Think about it, can you ever see anyone holding you like this, anyone who cares about you as much as I do? Can you really picture Jade ever holding you like this?" she whispered.

"No," I answered honestly.

"Then why fight me? I know you like me back, you may not love me, but I know you like me. No one said you had to love me right away. Love takes time. Stay with me and let me make you fall for me."

I shook my head no.

"Stop being so stubborn." She sighed.

"I'm going to miss this. Miss you holding me like this. Miss your voice in my ear. Miss your lips on my skin." I whispered to her.

"This doesn't have to be it. I can still hold you, still kiss you, and love you if you would just let me." Her voice shook.

I looked up at her and I could see tears in her eyes. I help her tighter and kissed her softly on the collar bone.

"Don't leave me," Darleen whispered.

She made me feel really bad. How could I just break her heart like that? I downed the rest of my drink and then kissed her. She kissed me back hungrily. I breathed her in, running my hands through her hair, dropping the empty can on the floor.
