Goose's Thoughts:
As the first story of the year, this one definitely lived up to the expectations I had on it. Dancing with the Viscount is a prequel novella to The Howertys series and sets the tone for the entire series.
Emily's writing style is immaculate from beginning to end. Every description, every character, every scene all have their own lives and you can almost see them come to life on the page. She's created an amazing Regency universe full of romance, intrigue, and some of the spicy stuff. This story has everything you'd expect in a Regency story and so much more.
If Historical Fiction isn't your thing, I would definitely recommend taking a gander at this novella to get the best experience of the genre. There is something in this story for everyone and I cannot recommend it enough. This is a great starting point for anyone wanting to read the entire series (which I suggest you also do) and an awesome introduction to Emily's writing.
I loved this story so much. It's such an immaculately written story that it deserves all the love in the world (as does the author). I'm so glad I started this one and cannot wait to read the rest of the series!
