Blurb:

Sugar McKenzie and August Wakefield couldn't be more different - Sugar, a meticulous, caring, but lonely paramedic and August, a charming former reality star still chasing his dream. But they've both closed themselves off emotionally from others...that is until they match with each other on a dating app.

After a disastrous first date, the two agree to never see each other again, yet they both can't stop thinking about one another, and circumstances keep pulling them back into each other's lives. Are they the real answer each other dreams, or will they continue to go through their lives hiding behind walls, just faking it?

Goose's Thoughts:

It's a new week and we are venturing into an enemies-to-lovers story that will have you saying 'aww' for a large percentage of the story.

Both of our characters have some amazing character development throughout the story and I loved watching them grow. August has some of the best development where he comes from being a smug, egotistical jerk to someone you root for and want to succeed. I loved seeing his inner thoughts and following him on the journey from jerk to adorable sweetheart. There were several moments throughout where I just wanted to hug him, and I think he would have needed it.

Sugar also goes through some great character development. She learns to slow down, to talk more with August, and I loved the anger she displayed towards her mother. I enjoyed seeing her chase what she wanted rather than doing what everyone expected of her and truly coming into her own. It flowed smoothly alongside August's development and I enjoyed seeing their relationship grow alongside the development.

I'm not an expert on an enemies-to-lovers story, but this one flowed organically and in a way that felt realistic. The character development experienced by both characters really helps to push them closer together. The journey both characters go on allows their friendship to grow until it blossoms into the relationship we see at the end of the story. It was masterfully done from the word go.

Fallon's descriptions throughout are amazing. She really captures the changing seasons throughout the story with some of my favourite moments being the Christmas scenes early on. They were really magical moments which worked with the season itself and, as a Christmas lover myself, made me very happy to experience. The locations really come to life right off the page and she does a masterful job with each description.

If you're on the hunt for an enemies-to-lovers story full of feels, and some of the best character development you'll see, then this is the story for you. Fallon is incredible at building these two characters from the ground up and having them grow right before our eyes and right off the screen. These two really are characters, and a couple that you'll root for.

Thank you for writing such an amazing story, Fallon!
