"r. p.if you forget"

When she wakes up in the hospital with no memories of who she is, Elainne has no idea what to expect from her life. Fortunately for her, everything seems just perfect: her parents care about her a lot, and all of her classmates support her. But that still doesn't explain how she got kidnapped and lost her memories. Or that strange tattoo that pushes her to start her own investigation.

From hidden notes to looking for clues on her bookshelf, Elainne realizes there's much more to her amnesia than she initially thought. As the perfect facade starts to fall apart, and everyone around her shows a different face every day, she will have to work quickly to recover her memories.

Because someone made them lock themselves up inside her brain. And they will make sure she doesn't get them back.

Goose's Thoughts:

Eleven weeks in and we are stepping into the realm of Mystery/Thriller this week!

I was quite excited to read this story after it was recommended to me purely because it was such an interesting plot line just from the blurb, and the story did not disappoint. Nina's writing style throughout this story helps to create such an air of mystery around the main plot for the story. What I loved was that the reader is also left in the dark about what happened to Elainne. We get to go on this journey with her and uncover clues that have been sprinkled throughout.

The way Nina is able to build the mystery throughout is amazing and I loved going through and trying to put the puzzle together myself (although I'm not as smart as Elainne). It all seemed so complicated, but it somehow all made sense come the end of the story which was amazing to see. I loved discovering how the story unravelled to the very end.

One thing that I loved about this story is that come the end, life doesn't return to normal. Elainne still struggles with the trauma of what happened to her and it isn't all happy and rainbows now that the main body of the story is over. It was nice to see her still struggle with it and definitely added to the realism.

If you're looking for a short, quick read, then this is definitely one I would recommend. It was such a good read from start to end.

Thank you for writing such an amazing story, Nina! Also a shoutout to avadel for suggesting this story!
