Blurb:

A wolf's life takes an unexpected turn when tragedy strikes and leaves him without a past and with even less hope for the future. A long journey is ahead as he struggles to rediscover himself and his family.

★☆★☆★

After an accident that Drizzle can't even remember, he wakes to find that he's lost everything. Trapped in an unfamiliar place with no recollection of where he is or why he's there, Drizzle's hopelessly lost. At least, until he's taken in by a kind wolf and offered the chance to be part of their small, less than orthodox pack.

Drizzle soon grows closer to these wolves than he'd ever imagined, but glimpses of his past begin to tear him between two worlds. He only wants to leave it all behind, to stay in his new life with the ones that care about him, even if it means abandoning the answers he yearns for so deeply.

Maybe it's for the better. Maybe, this fresh start is all Drizzle needs to remember how to be happy, how to love, and even find a new family.

But that's not to say his past is going to stay in the past...

Goose's Thoughts:

We've reached Week 29 and we are stepping into the animal kingdom to explore pack life with some very interesting wolves!

Cy does an amazing job throughout the story of placing us right into the middle of these wolves and their lives. The descriptions they use help to conjure some amazing images from the setting, to the thrill of a chase during the hunt. Each description adds another layer to this story, adding to its beauty and making for quite the thrilling journey amongst the peace that comes with this wolf pack.

There is something very special at seeing Drizzle grow and change as the story progresses. When we first meet him, he's challenging his own Alpha as revenge, but we see him settle into life with a new pack and finding the wolf that he's meant to be with. What I loved is that even with his amnesia, there are small moments where we can see just how his old life affect his psyche. His old Alpha remains in his mind despite Drizzle not remembering him.

Drizzle's relationship with Cloud from their first meeting to the most recent chapter grows very organically throughout. I spent several chapters cheering for them and waiting for the moment they finally admitted they loved each other, which is a sign of a well-formed relationship. The doubt that creeps into the both just adds to the realism and there is something very adorable about them both.

Another thing that I loved in this story, is the names. Not only are they all unique and really fit with the wilderness, and wolf-vibe of the story, but I love how they match. From Drizzle having a sister called Rain, to two other pups being named Pine and Spruce (definitely not biased towards Spruce). Cy managed to create a really clever naming system that really helps to add to the overall vibes of the story.

If you are looking to take a peek at the world of wolves but, like me, might not have much experience with them, this is definitely a story I would recommend. The descriptions, the characters, and their relationships are all so wonderfully written from beginning to end. There is an edge to the story as well, a darker tone lurking underneath that will have you waiting for something big to happen. I cannot recommend this story enough.

Thank you for writing such an amazing story, Cy!
