Isn't that... (Y/N)?

"Watch out!" I yelled, my bangs flying behind me as I sprinted out of the way of the attacking ruin guard. Its missiles were going to hit her!

What should I do? I couldn't save her from here. Maybe if I used my anemo powers-

Before I could even process it the missiles kissed the ground. (Y/N) was on the ground. And so was...

Master Diluc?

My eyebrow raised as I stared at them.

The (h/c)-haired woman was directly beneath Master Diluc: it seemed Master Diluc was the one who got her out of the way.

There were so many questions...

"Traveller! Your focus!"

My head snapped towards Acting Grand Master Jean, and back toward the ruin guard that was stomping towards me. Its clunky stamps echoed behind me as I dashed towards Master Jean, getting as far away as I could from (Y/N) and Master Diluc.

"Sorry," I replied, gripping my sword.

"No need. Are you hurt? I can heal you if you're hurt."

"I'm still as good as new," I said with a beam.

I glared at the ruin guard, its attention finally back on us. Even so, my mind couldn't help but wander.

Did they know each other?

And...

Can't (Y/N) fight?

"Very well. Then let's meet at Starsnatch Cliff when we are ready. Please don't be late."

Lumine, Venti and Diluc nodded. The Dvalin Protection Squad, as Paimon liked to call it, was in full flow.

"Hehe! Yes Ma'am!" Paimon exclaimed with a mischievous grin.

The Acting Grand Master's eyes widened slightly in realisation of her sudden stern tone. "Ah, sorry. I didn't mean to..."

After a little more chatter, eventually the group began to go their separate ways. Jean was headed back to the city of course, while Venti was probably going to the cliff already. Both to prepare, Lumine assumed, one physically, while the other probably mentally.

She needed to prepare too. She wasn't nearly strong enough yet to fight a dragon head on.

But first...

"Are you not leaving too?"

Lumine glanced at Diluc, whose hands were stuffed into his pockets.

When they were dealing with the ruin guard, it felt as if Diluc had been gone for a good ten minutes at least. They were almost done with it by the time he came back – without (Y/N) unlike what Lumine would've thought – but thanks to Diluc's pyro vision it was defeated much more swiftly. After all, three anemo users weren't exactly getting too far by themselves.

Even so, Lumine couldn't help but notice a change in Diluc's usually unfaltering stern demeanour from the moment he returned.

He kept putting his hands in his pockets and then taking them out again, and of course Lumine had noticed he was no longer wearing his gloves anymore. His bare, literally almost pure white hands looked strange with the rest of his dark outfit that covered him up completely.
