Jenny, was late for dinner and also hadn't moved in as yet. Mac walked into the dining room, to find Alexei waiting. "Hi Alexei. Where's everyone?" He was deep in thought and didn't hear her. She quietly helped herself to the food, and waited for him to dish up. Alexei, just sat there. Getting up, she made a plate for him. The simple dinner looked delicious. Baked salmon, with baby potatoes and roasted veggies. The moment she set his plate before him, she realised her mistake. She hadn't put any carrots on his plate, knowing that he was allergic to them. Carrots made his throat itch. Wasn't she supposed to pretend to not know him or anything about him. Hadn't she decided to keep her distance from him. "Idiot!"
Mentally castigating herself for being a fool, she started eating. When she looked at him again, he was eating and looking at her. "Thanks L..Mac!" Wondering what he was about to say just before he said her name, Mac replied that he was welcome. For a moment, they just looked into each other's eyes. Searching, for something. Both afraid to let out what they were feeling. Afraid to let the other know. There was also shame in that shared look for Alexei belonged to Melissa.
Just then, Jenny walked in, with Aaron in tow. "Hey, you guys! Greedy pigs! Thanks for waiting for me." The two glanced at each other and shrugged. This was a standing joke of sorts, in this household as Jenny was never on time for dinner and was always upset if they didn't wait for her. The girls had arranged for Aaron to meet Jenny at the apartment and follow her here for dinner. "Hey Aaron. How are you?" asked Mac as she rose to give him a hug. He held her tightly, in a bear hug, for a bit too long, maybe? The sound of a throat clearing, split them apart. While Aaron's arms were warm and comfortable, they somehow felt wrong. Mac felt it odd. There was nothing wrong with Aaron. Shrugging it off, she led Aaron to a seat. "Alexei, you remember Officer Aaron, right?" Alexei took a few minutes to reply. He was busy glaring at Aaron. Jenny saw this. Mac didn't. "Yes! Is there a problem Officer?" Aaron started to reply but Mac beat him to it. "Nothing's wrong, Alexei. Aaron is here to see me. We are friends. I know you don't mind that I invited him for dinner. Thanks to Jenny though, he is late. Sorry that I didn't wait for you, Aaron. Over the years, we've learnt to eat if we are hungry and not to wait for Jenny."
Alexei just grunted. Mac wondered what was wrong with him. Why he was, so grumpy. Even though Mr Grumpy barely spoke, he sat there with a heavy presence while Mac, Jenny and Aaron joked about their past meetings. Aaron, told her that he knew she was a trouble maker. In fact, both she and Jenny had mischievous faces. They just laughed. As dinner progressed, even though thy were done eating, they sat at the table. Alexei abruptly stood up and excused himself. Glancing at each other, the girls decided to ignore his behavior. They finally moved to the family room, where they found AJ playing a game on his play station. He had eaten earlier, done his homework, and had half an hour to play before bedtime. The trio decided to join him after he challenged them to a game about race cars. Mac didn't know much about games, so she lost, miserably. So did Jenny. Aaron was having a great time as he was winning most of the games, although, AJ was making a decent effort for a kid. Aaron was accusing the small guy of cheating. The girls were laughing at the boys. This is how, Alexei found them. He was so upset. "Why was the cop here? When did they become friends. He was angry with Mac. She didn't laugh with him or hug him or talk with him unless she had to talk, yet here she was, behaving like a teenager. Did she have feelings for the cop? What if she did? What would he do? He had almost called her love at dinner. His emotions were all over the place. He needed Melissa back."
His thoughts were interrupted when AJ asked him if he wanted to play. "I lost and it's my bedtime. You get to play Aaron. He's very good." That was like waving a red flag at a bull. Both thought, "I'll show him!" AJ got off the couch and motioned for Aaron to take a seat. Then the battle began. Aaron was good but Alexei had spent night after night, playing games, when Mac had left. He was too good. This fact mollified him a little and he even smirked at Aaron. Mac hadn't taken her eyes off him, since he walked in. Watching him compete, and seeing the smirk, when he won, turned her on. She was so deep, in a fantasy, that she was unaware, that both men, were watching her. There was a heightened look to her. A glow. Possibly, from the desire, and fantasy she was experiencing. A little smile, hovered on her lips. She looked like a woman, who was contemplating what her lover would do, to her.
Both men were getting aroused and falling into a stupor. Alexei was fighting against the desire to pick her up in his arms and take her to his bed, where she belonged. He had to physically pinch the side of his ribs, to prevent himself from doing that. Aaron on the other hand, wanted her, all to himself. He wanted to see her sitting like that in his home. He wondered what, she was thinking off, to put that look on her face. He hoped it was him. He was falling deeper each day. All he saw, was her face, everywhere, no mattter what he was doing. It was getting harder to stay away from her.
Mac didn't dress in a sexy way, or try to attract attention or flirt but she commanded attention from two, totally different, men. It was who she was on the inside, that showed on the outside and this was what, drew them in. Jenny, noticing the attention on Mac and seeing how oblivious Mac was, coughed lightly, to get their attention. "Would you guys like something to drink?" she asked. They were now glaring at each other and both replied in the negative. Jenny bit her lip to keep from laughing. "Her plan was working out. It was slow but it was there. She wanted nothing more than to get her brother and best friend and 'sister' back together. She felt bad about using Aaron. To tell the truth though, she found Aaron very attractive. She wondered if he had ever given her a thought. She hadn't told anyone about breaking up with her boyfriend a few months ago. He cheated on her and Jenny wasn't the forgiving type. She wondered if she would find someone trustworthy to love her and keep her heart safe. She prayed that she didn't fall deeper for Aaron, considering how he felt about Mac."
Shortly, Aaron bid his goodbyes, and made his way home. He was puzzled by the feeling of desire and the electricity that shot to his groin when he hugged Jenny. He knew it was for Jenny as he hugged Mac last. This was the first time, he had gotten close to her."What was going on?" he wondered.
Hmmmm things are getting weird. What do you think of Alexei? Do you want to kick him. I know I do!
