I stared hopefully at the night skies wishing that something miraculous would happen. If only I am a fairy I will do some enchantments to make my situation magically fine. I looked above. The skies were gray playing with the dark blue clouds. The breeze of the wind keeps on whistling on my ears as if comforting me from sadness. There's no stars visible as if they doesn't want my wish to come true. However, I was still hopelessly devoted.
"Are they coming home?" My little self asked nowhere as I keep staring at the dark skies.
I wonder why stars couldn't come down from up above down the land? If only it could, I would probably hug them tight and have an adventure with them... as we walk our way out—twinkling.
I wonder why there would always just one star that falls from the sky when billion of children asked for their wishes? Is it because it only grant one wish from a random kid? Or does it know who were good and bad just like Santa?
Didn't they heard my prayers?
I closed my eyes tight as I pursed my lips.
I couldn't help but wonder why cessation couldn't be done for pain? Is it because we deserve the pain? Or because we have to fight against it? Then, why do we have to fight against pain when pain just wants to give us a lesson? Why?
Everything in this world is complicated—that's what I understand from the very start.
"Phaebe? Hey, little girl? Where are you?"
I know that voice. It's from Mimi Philicia. She's my Mom and Dad's best friend. She's very close to my family... specially to me.
I got excited and stood up from where I was sitting. I hurriedly ran towards the entrance of the back door of the mansion. I searched for Mimi and there she was beautifully roaming her eyes all over the mansion to find me.
She's wearing a beautiful loose white dress. She looks like a goddess.
When I grow up, I wanted to be her.
I was about to ran towards her and hug her tight when I saw a little boy hugging her waist.
Who is he?
But I dodged the presence of the boy and ran towards Mimi.
"Mimi!" tawag ko sa kanya saka tumakbo palapit sa kanya.
Her face then contorted in a huge beautiful smile as she walks towards me.
I've been roaming the whole place to find you pero wala ka," she asked with a timid pretty smile.
I smiled timidly. "At the backyard, Mimi. I was staring at the skies wishing for Mom and Dad to come home."
She sighed. "They're busy, little girl. Don't worry. Nandito naman kami ni Didi at ng anak ko para e-celebrate ang birthday mo."
Anak? The boy is their son?
I pursed my lips when a struck of jealousy succumbed my heart.
