“Cecel, what are this?” I called Cecel from my office when I saw a bunch of flowers and chocolates on my desk.

I was from a meeting at a nearby restaurant. And when I came back, naabutan ko ‘tong mga ito sa desk ko.

Are these from my suitors na naman ba?

The door of my office opened. Pumasok si Cecel.

“Ma’am?”

“Kanino ‘to?” I asked as I pointed at the chocolates and flowers.

“Ay, Ma’am, hindi ko po alam. Wala pong nag-abot sa akin ng chokolate at bulaklak,” she answered.

I creased my forehead. “Huh? Edi, someone entered my office?”

Kita kong nataranta siya. “Eh, Ma’am, hindi ko po napansin. Umihi po kasi ako kanina, e. Tapos noong bumalik ako, wala naman pong tao.”

Hinilot ko ang sintido ko saka namaywang. What if someone who entered my office get something from inside? What if kumuha ito ng mga importanteng papeles?

“Alright. Please, kindly check the CCTV footage so we’ll know who entered. And please, sabihin mo agad sa akin if whoever it was, ‘kay?” I said.

She nodded. “Opo, Ma’am.” She said and went out of my office.

I breathed out as I studied the flowers. Hindi ko na muna ito hinawakan as I arranged my things on my desk. Naupo ako sa swivel chair ko before I lifted the flower and saw a card there. Something’s written on the card.

Miss you already, mare. -Philip

I smiled and breathed out. It’s from him pala.

I placed the flowers back on my desk as I shook my head. I opened the chocolates and eat a little. Pero, napatigil rin ako sa pagkain when I felt like puking as I smelled the chocolate.

“Owemji! Is this expired ba? Ambaho!” Ibinalik ko sa lagayan ang chocolate as I placed it far from me, iyong hindi abot ng ilong ko ang amoy.

It smells bad talaga.

I massaged my temple nang mahilo ako. Parang hinuhukay ang tiyan ko and I really wanted to puke. I hurriedly stood up and went near the water dispenser. Agad akong uminom ng tubig to ease my dizziness.

When I finally felt calmed, I sighed. Naglagay muli ako ng tubig sa baso and brought it to my desk. I sat and leaned my back on ny swivel chair as I closed my eyes.

I noticed these past few days that I became really lazy to the point that I do not want to wake up early in the morning and I do not want to take a bath. Nakakapagtaka because I usually wake up early and take a bath early.

Nagiging mapili rin ako sa pagkain. I easily got dizzy with the foods that I loved eating. Hindi ko maintindihan kung bakit.

My body felt so tired that I just wanted to sleep the whole day. I do not want to work pa nga, e. Specially because of the hectic schedule.

I heard a knock on my office’s door. I opened my eyes and saw Cecel entered.

“Ma’am, si Sir Clovis lang po pala.” She said.

I smiled timidly and nodded. “Yeah. I’m sorry, hindi ko nabasa agad. There was a note on the flowers kaya nalaman ko. Thank you,” I said.

She nodded. “Okay po.”

I saw her looked at me in hesitation. It’s as if she wanted to tell me something.

“Yes, Cecel?” Inunahan ko na.

“Uhm… Ma’am, ayos ka lang po?”

“Ah, I’m okay. I think, I am.”

“Pero ang tamlay niyo po, eh. Tsaka, ang putla ninyo,” saad niya.
