…
“We’re going to El de Hera, later. You do not have to bring your things because we already have our important kits at your house,” Philip said while he was stirring his coffee.
I got excited. It’s been a long time since I last stayed there in my house. I had been staying in La Seriah for long 5 years since it was hard for me to go back-and-forth from El de Hera to La Seriah. Most of the time, I stayed at Philip’s house because he always told me to just stay with him for my safety. So, I never had a chance visiting my house at El de Hera. Though, there are nannies there.
I am also somewhat hesitant in staying there because of the not-so-drastic memories that I had back when I was a kid. My parents had been really obscure to me and I never had a chance to have a valuable time with them. I am trying to forget those painful memories yet the memories keep on haunting me.
I just want to stay here in La Seriah if possible, pero, ngayon, babalik na ako roon.
“Hmm…kay,” sagot ko as I sipped on my coffee.
“Finish your coffee,” he said.
I nodded. “Hmm… I will just finish my cake too.”
He nodded. “Okay.”
We were invaded by silence. I was trying my hardest not to feel awkward towards him pero ayaw umayon sa akin ng panahon. After what happened yesterday, magiging maayos na sana kami but that incident happened.
I’m so unfortunate!
I cleared my throat and started a conversation with him. “Did Mimi and Didi called you?” I asked.
He shook his head. “No. They’re definitely enjoying each other’s company, right now. Must be the reason why they haven’t called me yet.”
I nodded and licked my lips. “Good for them, though. I think naging busy sila these past few months kaya they deserve to enjoy naman.”
He nodded and glanced at me. He stared at me for awhile that I never manage to dodge. I cleared my throat and blinked as I took away my gaze from him.
“What would you like to do when we arrive at El de Hera?” He sipped on his cup of coffee.
“Uhm… take a dip on the beach?” Hindi ko siguradong sagot.
He chuckled. “Why do you sound so unsure?”
I chuckled. “I don’t know. I just do not know what I will do when we get there. Maybe, I’ll just give the nannies a break then tour around El de Hera.”
Sumubo ako ng cake tsaka humigop ng kape then I asked him. “How about you?”
He pursed his lips. “Depends.”
I glanced at him. “What do you mean?”
“It depends on what you will do,” he answered.
I smiled timidly and nodded. Edi, parehas kaming walang gagawin niyan.
“Hindi ba tayo kakain muna?” I asked.
“No. I will just cook when we get there.”
I nodded. And again, we were invaded by a deafening silence. Palagi na lang kaming ganito. We usually have all the topic in the world, not until something happened between us. We were always out of topic and it made us awkward.
After our long silence, he finally talked. A relief for me because I do not know what to say nor how to start another conversation.
“I’m done. I will just take a shower,” paalam niya kaya tumango ako.
