5- Partners?!?!?!
"... and that is the Mole concept. Hope everyone has understood and if you have doubts, please ask away!" Mrs John said in a cheerful tone.
I looked around and found everyone sitting with their eyelids half-closed.
"Mrs John! Could you explain that one more time please!" Aiden stands up.
The rest of the class shoots questionable looks at him while Lucia kicks his leg and mouths,
"WHY?"
Aiden chuckles.
"Very well then..." Mrs John starts and the rest of the class groans.
I actually didn't mind Chemistry. It was one of the easy-going subjects for me but if you ask Lucia, she'll say it's pure horror. Aiden seemed to like it as well.
"and then-" Before Mrs John could complete her sentence, the bell rang indicating the end of the class.
"YES!" Lucia actioned.
It's been a solid week since our class at Waterford High started. Aiden and Phoenix have chosen the same stream as me which includes Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science while Lucia has chosen Biology instead of Computer Science. Natasha had chosen Commerce as she wanted to start a business. It has been pretty great so far. Aiden, Lucia and I have become very close friends, actually, Lucia and Aiden are more like frenemies but haha!
Phoenix on the other hand... AH, I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT IS UP WITH THAT GUY!
"Okay then, before everyone leaves I have an assignment to give you", Mrs John announces.
The entire class starts whining.
"HUSH! There is no escape from this and you will be in a pair of two. I will select the pair and also assign them the topics." She continues.
My heart, mind and every single nerve in my body were racing by the thought of who my partner will be. There is no way out of all these people in the class I end up with that 'guy'.
"Okay so first..." She proceeds to announce the pairs. I couldn't concentrate on any one else's name other than mine or Phoenix's.
"...next is Lucia Reinhart and-"
.....
"Phoenix Gray... you will be doing a project on Chemical Thermodynamics."
Woah. My mind was kind of relieved and to be honest a little bit disappointed? NO, I'M NOT DISAPPOINTED, I'M HAPPY, IT'S NOT LIKE I LIKED HIM?
"-and the last pair is Skyla Elliot and Aiden Matthews... you both will also be doing a project on Chemical Thermodynamics. The four of you can help each other as you have the same topic, this is applied to all the pairs who share the same topic. The projects need to be handed in before the end of this month. Happy Weekend!" Mrs John announces and walks out of our class.
Wait? So Aiden's my partner?
I guess that's alright. At least it's a person I'm comfortable with.
"Skyla!" Aiden walks up to me.
"SKYEEEEEE!" Lucia also arrives.
"How did you end up with an idiot!" Lucia rolls her eyes.
"Haha..." I laugh.
"HEY! I'M BETTER THAN YOU!" Aiden defends himself.
"So... I guess we all have the same topic huh?" Phoenix Gray approaches us.
The three of us nod.
"How about we all meet up and work together on it! I mean it wouldn't be a big problem... We have the same topics and after all Mrs John said we could help each other!" Aiden points out.
