20- Blue eyes, Ocean Blue eyes.
"I think I'm going to pass out, this is so nerve-wracking. Why did they change our time slot!", Phoenix starts hyperventilating.
"Chill man, just think of it like basketball except you go on stage and sing", Aiden tries to calm him down.
"THIS IS WAY DIFFERENT THAN BASKETBALL... AND I'M WEARING GLASSES, AH!"
I walk closer to him and gently pat his back.
"You're going to do great! I'm sure!", I smile at him and start walking towards the stage.
The theatre club was supposed to start the programs by performing their play, Romeo and Juliet. Apparently, the guy playing Romeo couldn't make it in time and they begged the authorities to switch up the time slots. Our principal then decided that it'd be best if the band started it off with our song.
So, here we are, about to sing our song to the entire school.
"WELCOME EVERYONE! TO THE 2022-2023 CARNIVAL OF WATERFORD HIGH!..."
The host of the night starts the event.
She continues with the basic introductions and then calls us on stage to kick-start the night."Hello everyone!", All of us wave in synchrony.
"We're Euphoria and today we will be singing our song, "LITTLE THINGS" for all of you. Hope everyone enjoys it and don't forget to cherish all the little things in our life because, in the end, the small things are what matters!", Lucia introduces us. She turns back and smiles at us.
The rest of us exchange glances and nod our heads.
Aiden starts playing the piano and we start performing.
It felt great! Singing with all of my friends. I am super lucky to have met them in my first year here. It feels totally blessed and I'm truly grateful for this. The song was about 4 minutes but for me, it felt like a fraction of a second. We finished the song and the crowd seemed pleased. They all clapped and cheered for us.
"THE SONG WAS A VIBE DUDEEE!", someone from the crowd screamed.
We all looked at each other and laughed.
Our host walks in on stage once again and starts speaking,
"The song was definitely a bop and I'm sure everyone loved it guys! Well done!
Now, I heard you have a small solo performance prepared, how about we move on to that?", she smiles. My heart starts beating harder. I was very nervous. I have never sung in front of a huge crowd before and not to mention about some random dude.
I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"You'll do amazing and I'm sure of it", Phoenix smiles.
"Yeah and don't forget I'm the one accompanying!", Kai adds on.
"Thank you guys...", I grin.
Everyone left the stage except for Kai and me. I looked at Kai as he sat in front of the piano.
"You're going to slay it!", he mouths.
I take a deep breath and turn towards the mic.
"Hello-", I slowly start off.
"I'm Skyla Elliot, a new member of the wonderful band, Euphoria and today I'll be singing a song that I wrote, it's called 'Ocean Blue eyes'. A sweet slow melody and I hope you all enjoy it!""LET'S GO SKYLAA!", Lucia screams from the crowd and I chuckle.
"Ready?" Kai asks me and I nod.
He starts playing the prelude. I close my eyes and slowly start singing.
