A tear slipped down Etho's cheek as he knelt at Bdub and Doc's graves, quickly wiping it away as he stood up, dropping a note on each grave, placing a rock on each to hold them down so they wouldn't get blown away by the wind.
He slowly walked away, towards the place Bdubs had died, so oblivious to what was about to happen when he fell asleep like normal. The bed was originally white, but now it was completely stained red, the sheet still damp with the blood.
He ran his hand over it, instantly dark red seeping onto his hand. It made him feel sick, but he couldn't get it off. He didn't want to. It would make sure he could never forget Bdubs or Doc. He wouldn't forget them until the day he died.
Etho smiled through the tears, turning away and slowly walking away, eventually taking off and flying towards an ice spikes biome, hoping the grinding would take his mind off things. It never normally did, but it was at least worth a try. He flew a few thousand blocks, his focus blurring, leading to him crashing into one of the spikes and falling onto the ground painfully. He winced, cracks appearing in the ice as he started to mine, mining well into the night, mobs starting to spawn now that Bdubs wasn't here to skip the night.
Remembering Bdub's death once again, the brief distraction having ultimately failed, flinging his pickaxe against the ice in frustration, running a hand through his unwashed hair.
"Shit," he swore under his breath, the ice beginning to crack beneath his feet as he made an effort to run away, ultimately failing as he fell under; he struggled for air as he tried to get up, desperately clinging onto the remaining ice. He tried to push himself up, only for an arm to grab his leg, tugging him back down. Etho thrashed, bubbles of air leaving his mouth, his consciousness blackening slightly with the cold.
He looked down, noticing someone with a mask pulling him down - his mind was too blurry to work out who it was, water seeping its way into his lungs, ice cold. He let out muffled screams as he thrashed desperately, trying to escape until he heard cracking from above. A shard of ice fell, smashing on top of him and trapping him out there, crushing his ribs and all the remaining air. His mind blackened as he thrashed more, to no avail.
A tear slipped down his face, his mind black as he surrendered to the relentless cold, crushing betrayal echoing in his heart as the person responsible came into the view for the first time.
